Got my wife a 23 GT Performance. First non ICE car. Took her a while to get used to it. We also have an AMG CLK55 convertible, which is a very quick car with excellent handling.

About 2 months in I noticed the AMG hadn’t been getting driven. I asked her about it and she basically said the GT was as much if not more fun and she preferred driving it. She has a very heavy right foot and never met a turn she couldn’t take at speed, so that’s saying something.

Ended up selling the AMG (cost a fortune to maintain) and got a 25 GT Performance

I don’t think you will go wrong.

I guess I’m in a minority here but I find my 2025 premium to be plenty fast and the handling and ride is plenty sporty for my expectations for a very practical 4 door “SUV” that I really see more like a roomy car. Based on what I read here, the GT takes performance and handily to another level . Maximum range though with AWD was a high priority for me.

We have the GTPE, great ride and fun to drive!!! FYI, our first EV, Rivian R1T quad. That will snap your head if not ready. Then we got the MME GTPE as our 2nd car.

We did remove the flip out stop sign and red flashing lights. didn't want to be confused with a school bus. LMAO. Oh and went with Grabber blue so less confusion then yellow.

We have a '22 GTPE. Best car we have ever owned. Zero problems. Always puts a grin on our faces when we drive it. The torque never gets old. It does not corner like a sports car--but what EV does, other than perhaps a Porsche Taycan? I have owned several "sports" cars--corvettes, BMWs, Mercedes, Jaguars--they are all fun to drive too--but none can compare to that instant torque that comes with the Mach-E GT. The GT seats are very comfortable. The ride is quiet and smooth. We plan on driving ours for at least another 6-10 years.

I have a 2022 GT with 69,000 miles. It's my 4th Mustang (first was a 67) - this is the best and plan to keep as long as possible - fun to drive and I've never driven a bus so??

Your 25 is way faster than a 21-23 premium. The folks who posted here (including me) had older models. That’s why you’re in the minority. There’s less difference between yours and a GT.

Or the Porsche Macan, especially in GTS or Turbo trims. ;)
Former MME owner here, the upgrade is costly but over the moon happy!

2024 Mach E GT
I have a 2023 Mach-E Premium lease, I have 3 months left. Thinking of purchasing a 2023 or 2024 GT Model when my lease is up. Has anyone gone from a Premium Model to a GT, is driving the GT Model going to be a game changer in terms of fun to drive etc, or would you consider a different EV completely. I have been driving 2025 Tesla Model 3 rental for a while, I like it, and it performs better than my Premium Mach-E, but I think I would get bored after a while, the Mach-E just seems more like a I.C. "car." Anyway, what do you GT owners think about the GT. Research also indicates I should not consider the "Performance" model, too hard of a ride etc? thanks.
Having daily drivers of 911's, Cayman S, Acura NSX, Volvo 60R and Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor, there's no doubt that EV's are quick! As far as suspension and sheer handling at the extremes, the Porsches, NSX and Volvo were exceptional because the EV's are so heavy. They feel to me more like a fast (heavy) Mercedes--quick acceleration, but not quite as nimble in the corners due to weight.

My wife has always been a Mustang girl, so when we dumped the Tesla due to Musk dabbling where he shouldn't, we found the GT way more nicely appointed than other alternatives and plenty quick--even without the performance upgrade, zero-sixty in 3.7 is not slow!

So I would think you would find a significant difference in upgrading to a '24 or later GT. We did test drive a Rally and like it, but none was available in Hawaii last spring and we found the '24 GT terrific (with the caveat of it's an EV so until battery tech advances again so a smaller lighter battery will give the same performance and range). Mercedes handling and the attractive body style, comfortable and useful interior have won us over. And I think you'll find the same.

The ones for us to watch down the line will be the BMW ix3 and the Volvo. We test drive the much larger BMW iX and loved it, but it was just too big for our needs and too pricey, too. We tried the M4 and M5 sedans--the hatchback makes them a very useful sedan--but my wife didn't like the rear visibility.

Go drive a GT and a Rally. I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

Oh, and Unbridled and one pedal are the only way to go for a driving enthusiast.

'25 MME GT Performance ('21 MME Premium AWD Ex)
Country flag
I went from a '21 Premium AWD Ex to a '25 GTPE. While I loved the first one, the new one is all around a better car. Love the handling/ride, seats, and performance (and I tend to drive rather conservatively). I had a '25 Premium RWD loaner for a couple of weeks while the new one was getting recall and other servicing, and OMG it felt like such a dog!

This is probably what you'll notice more, going down in performance level. You will get used to the performance level of the GT pretty quickly. Going back to a Premium, you will notice that the Premium has a less capable suspension and is not as quick. If you get a 2024 or later GT, the GT will also be faster than a Premium due to Ford having decontented the 2024 and later GT of the 5 second limiter. 😁🐩

The steering on the GT is no different than the Premium. I find that it is a little imprecise and kind of numb compared to my Trans Am. It's not all that bad, but it's not at the level of my 1979 Trans Am. 🤷‍♂️🐩

I just got home today from a 2 week, 5100 mile cross-country road trip. Pittsburgh to Santa Monica and back. In a 2023 GT. Had a fantastic time, no issues. Used 2 MWh of energy from DCFCs. Loved the 80mph highways in the southwest. blue cruise most of the time. Carried a spare 12v in the frunk, just in case. I’m planning a write-up, Vlog, etc to share the details. Such a fun car for these adventures!

I loved my 3.5 years in my 21 Premium, but my 25 GT would never let me look back. The performance difference is substantial even without the performance upgrade, and the ride in much better as well. See for yourself!

‘25 Mach E GT
Aside from modern Teslas for the new FSD, after extensive research there is no other EV I would have than the 2025+ Mach E GT

yes, than even the Taycan. Porsche doesn’t believe in one pedal; Ford’s one pedal is excellent, and a joy to drive on real roads on the GT

The 2025’s lane centering is good enough even off of mapped Blue Cruise that it can just drive the long sections, or in general, for you, so long as there are lane lines

Driving one pedal a lot requires proper seat adjustment to make sure you are not straining, and once that’s done you’re golden

No Polestar, Porsche, big nostril Bmw, sedate Mercedes, whale Cadillac can compare. Ioniq 5N (not the regular Ioniq) has track superiority and comes closest to a viable alternative, but has inferior looks, inferior one pedal, inferior ADAS

thanks for all the detail, it's what I wanted to hear :) Surprised to hear you say it feels lighter, (this is good!) what is pd? I drive exclusively on unbridled with 1pd
I think he means one pedal.
