Somehow I think NASCAR folks are not into EVs. But I could be wrong.

I'm more interested to see Ford's EV roadmap or at least new EV models (preferably SDV) than yet another "xyz version".
NASCAR trotted its EV mules out last season at the Chicago street race. It was jointly developed by NASCAR and ABB. They stated that it was a design exercise and that for the near future had no plans to go BEV racing. They still have hybrids on their road map. ??

I personally think we could someday see a separate NASCAR-affiliated all-EV series (like Formula E), but not in the Cup series

I still want to know why Ford continues to be coy about the frunk volume on this variant? ?

Very pretty but that horse on the side looks like it just shat out a wheel?

1000 horsepower! Serious giddyup.
Don’t worry, after 5 seconds, that drops to 20 horsepower.
I’m wondering if they’ll have the pit stop chargers listed in the nav system so they can precondition during the race ?

Wont do any good when the charge curve craps out 5 minutes in and goes to 60kw...

You don’t think they will develop quick charging on the level of 600 or so amps in order to compete and/or use solid state batteries to achieve max range and high speed charging?

My son is a huge Nascar fan, so that makes me a Nascar fan as well. I love my Mach-E, but I also love the idea of what Nascar is, and what the cars of Nascar are. I'm not sure this is that. Still a cool concept.

Quick-swap batteries would do the trick

Chevy trotted out its version of this NASCAR/ABB car last weekend for a dog & pony show at Daytona. They called it a Blazer. I say it’s #NoTaBlAzEr (you had to know that was coming from this canine). ??

That, or more likely changing the charge rate control since they're not worried about battery lasting 8 years/100,000 miles. All they need to assure is the battery doesn't catch fire while charging. If they put in a new battery every race it's on a par with the multiple engine swaps ICE race cars go through.
More interested to see what they use for a HVBJB and if it trickles down to our cars...

Even eliminating any safety/longevity concerns……. No way they can charge the battery any meaningful amount during a pit stop.

The average pit stop for tires and fuel is….. 11 seconds.

Fuel only? Even less.

Fully agree that no matter how fast they charge the batteries, it's meaningless. ??

In Cup they're pulling off 4 tire stops faster than the fuel cans are able to dump the fuel because of the centerlock spindles. With the Gen7 Cup car, they're now waiting on fuel or they're leaving only partially filled. A full fuel stop for a Cup team these days is ~9 seconds. ??

They do car swaps in Formula E, mostly for safety reasons. Swapping batteries was deemed to be too dangerous. ??
