I currently run my charger settings through my Mach-E instead of my chargepoint. The reason for this was the “conditioning” function didn’t seem to happen when the chargepoint was dictating things, but the scheduled start etc did (no clue if there’s a difference between the two).

The issue is one time I charged my car to 100% for a long trip. Since then the app is “resisting” my attempts to use a preferred charge time vs. charged when plugged in. When I charge to preferred and save it either just keeps circling and doesn’t make the change, or it makes the change but when I plug the car in it immediately starts charging (and changes the setting in the app). On top of this it charges the car to 100% despite being set at 80% on the app.

Anyone have experience with this issue? I’m debating about going back to letting the chargepoint run the show.

What I have found at times is that after a over the air update the default user of my vehicle goes to "guest". In guest mode it always (my experience) reverts to 100% charge. I turn on the car after my ford pass tells me about the latest update and make sure I'm in "me" mode.

So that’s where I made the settings originally, though I had modified the settings on FordPass, so do I need to do that again?

Sounds good I’ll check this out.

I was having this issue as well. Check out the thread here:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/fordpass-not-updating.18074/

Basically, turned off connected vehicle features in the car settings and turned them back on fixed it. I was getting very annoyed by the car not accepting my charge setting from the app. Have no clue why it started, but was annoyed by the charging to 100%.

hope this helps you

Your FordPass changes may eventually propagate to the vehicle. I've seen it happen half a day later, for instance.

I'd change it in-vehicle and when the FordPass changes eventually sync (if they ever do) you will probably get a notification in FordPass that your settings have been successfully updated.

Thanks for all the help, I’m wondering if it’s just easier to use the chargepoint app instead. I guess this leads to the other question I asked: is there a difference between when the app says the car is “conditioning” vs it’s just turned on at my scheduled start time?

Yes - I believe there is. Someone else may know for 100% but my understanding is conditioning occurs when car plugged in to L2 with a start time. This conditions the HVB and cabin climate. Starting the car just conditions the cabin. (Not 100% sure on messaging to app but this is how vehicle operates)
