Naw. I always wanted a convertible SUV.
The whole roof comes off of my Blazer. Of course, that thing is held on by 14 or 16 bolts and it weighs a couple hundred pounds. Pain in the behind to remove. LOL

I may just bear with it until I trade in the car for next one, instead of allowing dealer touch it and mess up my white interiors. They left lots of stains last time when they adjusted the tailgate. Cannot imagine what they are going to do to remove then reinstall the roof.

Usually, if you don't comply with the recall and have an issue it won't be covered by the warranty

As far as I understand, they clean the roofedges and seal it while it is in place....and they remove the windshield and re-attach it again...

My experience has been exactly what you are afraid of. I just got the car back last week (until parts arrive) and have pictures of the carnage to upload still. You are right to be worried for your white interior.

Edit to add that my car is not part of this recall - I just had a one-off manufacturing defect, but they still had to remove the headliner and all the pillar trim to get to the old glue in my case. Hopefully it is simpler for the rest of you.

Here in Quebec even the dealers who have body shops, it is still a 3rd party. There are no dealerships here who have their own glass guys.
Thank you; that is what my question was about. If the body shop won’t do it then they’ll have to outsource to a third party that only does glass (windshields). Personally, as a former specialist, I hope the windshields do go to a glass shop that specializes in windshields, etc. so the work is done right (If the recall is expanded to include the US). Stay tuned.. . .

For my roof glass replacement, the dealership disassembled the car then sent it to a local shop for the glass work. It took over a week to get an appointment though, as the major shops wouldn't touch it.

Ya, this should be interesting.. I highly doubt the dealerships will have the equipment to do the windshield let alone the huge roof. I could also see 3rd party glass companies not wanting anything to do with redoing the roof glass.

I feel like the app is catered to Americans so we might not even get a notification
Na the app caters to Europeans also ;). Wish MTO would provide the production dates effected as it is kind of useless what they posted. They are all made in the same plant so it is not isolated to Canadians just flagged first by them.

It's interesting to see the responses when this happens compared to the responses when this happens to a competitor.

I wouldn't doubt if it extends to the US soon. I recently had my windshield replaced by Safelite due to a rock hitting it. The technician told me that my OEM windshield was not installed very well and that the epoxy was just barely holding it on to the frame. He was unsure if the roof was affected.
Same scenario...my glass guy said the factory epoxy came off too easily and was not good.

Yeah I think the Tesla fan boys are going to have a heyday with this especially if it runs over to US MME's and I'm pretty sure it will.
