On our road trip this weekend, the timeshare we are staying at only had an external 120 outlet which they were kind enough to let us use. We found that we could “lock” the charger in the frunk with just the extension cord and charge cord coming out using just enough pressure to get the first lock to engage. This put no pressure on the cords (we checked that we could move them side to side). We brought our Chevy Volt charger for 120 charging so we didn’t have to change the charge plug on the Ford charger and it worked great. Charged every night this way. Charging was slow but there are not any “public“ non-Tesla L2 chargers in the Mammoth Lakes area (with the exception of a local RV park with 14-50 outlets).
