It's just a demonstration of the product. By the time anyone decides they want one, they'll have made the templates from a real MME and have them in stock. That's not even the same shape as the pano roof on the MME
Thanks - it definitely something to consider if the glass roof turns out to be too hot
I believe that is what the existing low emissivity glass does. Of course, you can add a film if you want to amp up the effect over what Ford has done. I'd recommend trying it first. Even folks in CA and AZ have been finding no issue with heat through the sun roof at Tour stops. It might be different if it were July, however.I was looking up window tinting and the 3M brand has come out with UV and IR blocking window coverings, both light and heavier tints and they say they will block out up to 95% of heat producing sunlight. That will help if you live in an area of extreme heat and would rather block the heat with a clear wrap than a shade.
No heat issue at all in SoCal. Glass roof gets warm to the touch (outside), but the heat does not transfer through to the inside of the vehicle. Just makes it light and airy feeling!I believe that is what the existing low emissivity glass does. Of course, you can add a film if you want to amp up the effect over what Ford has done.
