Let's face it, the average consumer is price driven. If all of the models out there were similar in price, I think it would have more of a chance, but with the Tesla Model Y about $13,000 less expensive and a much better charging infrastructure (for now) I really do not see how any of the non-Tesla products have that much of a fighting chance right now.

I now have 9,000 miles in on my M3P and have been pretty impressed on the experience so far. After the tax credit the car comes in at $44K, does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds (actually seems faster than that), charges fast both at home and at the Supercharger locations, and (knock on wood) has not had one failure or hiccup so far. I have actually come to appreciate the minimalist interior and the exterior looks have started to grow on me more. It has also been really nice to always have all of the electronics like automatic preconditioning, walk away lock (with window roll up), PAAK, auto charging overnight, etc. work all of the time with no hiccups.

I think the price is too high. If they can get it priced at MY levels, it might have a chance. But it isn't better looking than the MME, and I doubt it will sell better than the MME. But who knows. Maybe there are a ton of people out there willing to spend $60k on a average BEV.

Oh, wait! I just realized the big differentiater over other BEVs! It has door handles! ????
Keep in mind we are looking at MSRP for the first few being delivered.

Once they ramp up production and some time goes by, we shall see what the market determines is the actual selling price.

It’s been a few years, but we forget that MSRP used to be the “ha ha just kidding no one pays this” price.

We may be going back to the time where you pay invoice minus rebates for a new car.

Tesla has opened themselves up to the competition…… by their design department.

If they could make the 3 and Y attractive……. At their current prices, no competitor would have a chance.

Looks are a HUGE factor for car shoppers. If they weren’t, we would all be driving minivans.

I hope my pops changes his mind or gets sticker shock with the ADM he will get hit with. God, history repeating itself. He's easy prey for salespeeps. Ever since. The brother (mom side) got the Mustang and the brother in law got the Camaro.

I'm telling him there's other EVs out there now. So we will see. I thought he would like the Mercedes EVs. He has still a turbo diesel the long ones.

Right on. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Elon is fixated on production efficiency and seemingly using the same parts bin for all models; so all Teslas look the same (at least to me). This is the very reason I want something different.

I like the IPC and center screen - those look to be an upgrade over the MME.

The exterior is attractive - very MMEish.

The rest of this car is horrifically meh. No glass roof. No frunk. HEAVY. Less zip. Weird charging door/port.

This is not as good as the MME, especially at the suggested price. Woof.

Pricing the various ways of doing AP, FSD, Blue Cruise along with how the buyer assesses the value of those also affects final prices. Tesla's $16K is a big hunk up front.

Ok. So totally useless vehicle.
Like my Mach E with no frunk button. I think my MME frunk has not been opened in 6 months.

I use my Rivian frunk all the time, it is powered and has three easy ways to open and close it. The MME will never be powered, and mine might never have an easy way to open it.

You should be able to have the dealer to run the FDRS procedure to enable the button on the center screen. Does the 7/8 button on the door pillar open your frunk?

Nothing electronic works for me, only the lever. Maybe I can get them to do it when I get the latest recall (HVBJB) done. I am not going to take it in just for this.

For sure the time wasted going to the dealer far exceeds the time saved by having a button to push instead of a lever to pull.

But you can never underestimate the amount of time people will waste to fix something based on “principles.” ?

When the Mach E came out I said if it was a gas vehicle I would probably buy it as a second car.

Fast forward a few years later I'm looking to trade in my 2019 Mustang convertible I bought used in 2022 at a somewhat elevated price but a great interest rate. Running the numbers I realized that the only way I can stay in the same budget was to go electric.

I went with a 2023 Mach-E Select. As I was filling out the paperwork for a used 2021 Premium the salesman told me the new Select model is just a few hundred dollars more. So I went with newer. And the increase in my monthly car payment is made up buy the savings in gas, even factoring in the cost of charging. In California my savings increase everytime gas goes up.

Sure, I the Tesla has more charging options and is less expensive. But everytime I see one with its almost Prius inspired body I am so happy I went with the sporty Mach-E. Not only does it look good, it is pretty damn fast. Of course I still had to have the cursed HVBJB replaced one month in, but at least I got that out of the way early.

I hadn’t thought about it that, but an excellent point.

If the Mach E was gas powered (and looked the same), I absolutely would have considered it.

This car with a 5.0 (and then a 760 hp Shelby version) would be freakin awesome.

Ford….. where you at? Build that car!

Like the Lyriq, the Blazer EV seems to have a very poor charging curve. Another reason to stay away from Ultium platforms until they fix it.

The Youtuber reports charging speeds of 60 kW for several charging sessions.

Glad to see that the infotainment system from the Blazer EV is making its way to other ICE Chevy products (2025 Suburban/Tahoe and 2024 Traverse). One of the best setups with a mix of giant touchscreens and physical buttons imo.
