Hi!
I have a weird defect in my original Ford charger. It works well with the 16A adapter but blows the fuses if I use the 32A adapter.
I have used the 32A for more than one year, and it has been good. It charges even with 4Kwh, which means that in the morning, I get my car charged.
My car is now 110000 km and is three years old.
When I order the car, I also order the extended warranty, which means 160000 km or five years.
I went to the dealer, and they told me that the extended warranty did not cover the charger.
So, my question for you guys is: Is that the truth? Is this happening to any of you?

In the US there is no 16A vs 32A adapter. We get a 240v adapter that operates the unit at 240v/32A that delivers 7.7 kW and a 120v adapter that operates it at 120v/15A that delivers under 1.5 kW. Your adapter pair may be a European setup.

What fuses are you blowing? What is the voltage and amperage of the circuit being blown?

I'd recommend you open up the outlet to see if there is any sign of outlet issues.

His profile says he’s in Romania. ??

The US 120V adapter sets the EVSE to 12A. ??

Yes, that's why I mentioned it may be a different setup in Europe.

Good to know. I knew it was for a 15A/120V circuit but wasn't sure of the actual amperage with that pigtail. That's also why I said it delivers under 1.5kW rather than 1.8kW. It is obviously no more than 80% * 15A.

Thank you guys!
It is not about the technical issue; it is about the warranty.
Is that covered by the extended warranty, or not?
I am 100% positive that it is defective.
Yes, not in the US, but we own the same cars. There should be the same warranty terms.

Mmm. Electronic devices in EU have two year warranty by law. They may hide behind that law?

I don't believe that in the US that an extended warranty covers the charger, no.
