I just got a Mach E like a week or two ago. I was looking at Teslas, but I dunno, just feels like a lot of cut corners in areas that I specifically care about. Not that they're not awesome cars, but Carplay / 360 overhead camera are two "make or break" functions on cars for me now. I struggle to see myself buying the Rivians / Teslas of the world while they ban features like that.

Yep, whilst they are improvements the overall car has still left me feeling like I was driving a Mazda 3 from 2015. Until the 'constantly attempt to fiddle with the AC vents' thing changes my wife has sworn them off as well thankfully.

That’s stinkin fast. I just wish it was cool looking.

Take the same platform, same motors, throw it in a coupe and it would be cool. Could even raise the price on the coupe.

More fun data to watch, just like the Ionic 5 N got. It would really annoy me that it's on the center screen and not in front me of me though.

After living with Ford’s constant software faux pas , faulty parts and repairs that take 2+ months, Tesla is looking better and better.

I have yet to find comparable issues in terms of criticality, scope and size as the Mach E. Many of us have been left in rentals for months due to part shortages and/or lack of trained techs. Ford has no coherent strategy for after sales support - specifically EVs.

I think of myself as a “Ford” guy but this will be the last. The Mach E is beautiful but quickly falling behind in reliability.

Training techs takes time, not all want to learn EV’s. Ford needs both ICE and EV techs. Elmo has 16 years of EV and they’re all electric, so all their techs know EV. It’s an advantage they have over the traditional manufacturers. The issues with Elmo’s cars are numerous, onerous, and in some cases deadly. They do great software, but I’ll never put my family in their cars. Just giving some perspective.

That’s the thing, Tesla has been consistently horrible in any independent reliability comparison.

I understand the legit frustrations and concerns with the Mach E, I’m just afraid the “grass” on the other side of the fence is just another pile of dirt.

I just searched “Tesla forum repair times,” and here is the first result-
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/repair-time-for-tesla-service.282594/

2nd result…. 5 months plus!!
https://www.teslaownersonline.com/t...ant-repair-times-5-months-and-counting.20044/

And there are dozens of stories just like this. Repair times on EVs aren’t just a Ford problem.

Cracks have been found in a number of Teslas gigacastings.

Heatpumps went out on tens of thousands of Teslas, and they pretended they could solve the problem through software updates.

Somehow, they lost the ability to make accelerator pedals with their bullet proof truck...

Nevermind how they remove features and not given them back (smart summon) and reneged on their promise for FSD hardware to be backwards compatible with existing vehicles. They just took away Autopilot from new vehicles to force you to buy FSD (a big part of why I bought a Mach-E, Fords model makes more sense and is more economical, in spite of pricing changes). I traded in my 2019 I-Pace; trust me, it can be worse than what you're talking about with Ford.

There's several reasons why Teslas stock price is down 40% YTD while Ford is up 7%. Funny enough, I've held stock in both for a few years, and I've made more money on Ford than Tesla.

Appreciate both manufacturers have issues but I expected more from Ford (hence why I purchased the Mach E).

In my personal circle (small sample size), I don’t know any Tesla owners that have experienced similar issues within the first 5 years of ownership.

The 2.9 sec. 0-60 is cute but, really, after the first week, how often do normal people care? And I will never buy a car with such a plain interior. Boring…

Pls check again, my neighbor‘s new 2024 Model 3 Long Range has the same Autopilot as my 2023 M3P. As for long repair wait times, Tesla isn’t much better than Ford, if at all. Owners of both brands need to realize there are still growing pains because they continue to push the envelope, at least Ford has a viable excuse because compared to Tesla they don’t have the breadth of experience = less excuses for Tesla screw-ups.
