Why the Raptor? Well it depends on where we are headed - we go to N. Michigan a couple of times a year, virtually no Tesla chargers/or other EV chargers - so that would be a huge pain for us. Winter driving beyond 75 miles each way - if we don't want to stop to juice up. Those times where we need more room, towing, etc. But most importantly, the dog! He loves the cab of the F150 - so much room.Wise decisions not to pay ADM and keep your Model Y for a while.
I have 19-inch tires on both my Model 3 LR and MME Premium RWD. They handle potholes far better than the 20-inch tires.
The Tesla is better in some areas than the MME and vice versa. The MME has better build quality and is sturdier on rough roads. The Tesla has better tech, easier charging, and far better app.
BTW you can use your Tesla Wall Charger to juice up your MME, using the TeslaTap adapters. No need to install another charger just for the MME.
With wide availability of charging stations, why would you take your gas-guzzler Raptor on long trips rather than the Model Y or MME? I do just the opposite; my Ford F150 Diesel is for short trips near home and I use my EVs for longer drives. As a result, I save big on gas!
Consumer Reports rates the MME far higher than the Model Y. When you eventually acquire one, you'l see why!
I do have another trip to New Hampshire in a few weeks - 400 miles or so. Did it last summer in our first MY (was my first road trip in an EV) - 4 stops each way if I remember correctly - I wanted to have it juiced up at the hotel. I was looking forward to doing that same journey in a few weeks in a Mach E.... maybe another year.
