They need to line up at the drag strip. I'm seeing reported numbers as low as 3.3 for the MY-P. Ford needs to get rid of that initial delay.
Actually the numbers show the Mach E GTPE being faster from 0-30 than the MYP.

Initial delay is not the issue.

We'll, it's dying off soon after that apparently.
Tesla has the MYP power delivery slightly delayed before it really comes on. Compared to the M3P, which has instant power from 0, it seems as though Tesla has the software designed to limit power from zero on the MYP.

I'm slowly getting faster.....
This was Unbridled, TCS off, brake stand-full throttle.

I have the same annoyance with GTPE, but not with initial delay.

Strangely the GTPE is significantly faster at the 60 foot mark (as low as about 1.84 in our little casual sample group), but somehow the MYP seem to hit 60 MPH faster even in the hands of casual users.

So it’s just past 60’, probably around 40 mph, that the GTPE just drops off as compared to the MYP.

I know the MY LR had that delay which the boost seemed to have helped with a lot. Didn't know the MY-P did as well. Still, it's a rocket to sixty, so after that initial delay, it lays down the power.

Yeah, that's what it seems like. This is something Ford should be able to take care of. Not sure if it will sacrifice more top end though.

The majority of Dragy leaderboard YPs aren’t hitting 3.3s, they’re 3.5-3.6s, sorry. And, it’s easy to go run a 3.3 in a car that gets 3.5-3.6s - just go run on a road that’s a -7 to -10% slope and call it good. That’s what’s good about the leaderboard, it only allows you to upload valid runs where the slope isn’t less than -1%.

My first run of the night. Interesting on my Dragy and how it's different than the slip. I had it in my cupholder. Making another run soon I hope, if the rain stops, and I'll hold the Dragy on the window sill.

Yup! It dogged after 80. I trapped almost 102, but def not acceptable.

So 11.6 to 100mph but a full second to 102mph. Crazy.

Looking at a 12.2 second 1/4 mile run in dragy history on a model Y performance. The 1/8 mile for the MY is 7.79 @ 92mph. You're 7.87 @ 87.

That's only .1 second off in time but the speed is definitely dropping. The interesting thing is the graphs are the same. The MY actually drops off at 60mph but it stays a linear line where the MME GT drops off around 60 but then keeps slowly dropping off. So they're both geared for a fast 0-60 and then take a hit. The difference is the MY doesn't keep dropping off like the GT does.

Here's the Model Y Performance run, you can see it's like a straight line to 60, then a kink, then another straight line to 1/4 mile.

Better run for sure, but falling flat on the top end.

So basically it launches like a super car with the top end of a minivan.

Both of these cars will no doubt be lined up and we'll see how things play out.
