It stops after braking , mind you cruise control wasn't activated while I was parking or coming out of a uturn because cruise control can't be activated unless your driving at a higher speed (at least in 30k driving experience in my mach e)
Adaptive cruise control can definitely be activated on accident, I’ve had it happen in a parking lot because the button is placed in the perfect spot to hit it when you do a full steering wheel revolution, it’s pretty scary if you don’t know what’s going on

Your understanding of the speed at which cruise control can be activated is incorrect. I suspect that is at the root of the problem.

I can set it to 60mph when going 7mph behind a car. Car turns, my car accelerates to 60mph.

Press the button to activate the system. When the system activates, the set speed is equal to whichever is greater, the current vehicle speed, or 15 mph when in imperial units or 20 km/h when in metric units. If the speed
is too low, or other conditions are not correct for adaptive cruise control
activation, the system enters standby mode. When you are below 15 mph when in imperial units or 20 km/h when in metric units, adaptive cruise control does not activate unless you are following another vehicle.

My cruise control doesn't activate at parking speeds (under 5 mph or straight out of a u turn doing under 15 mph) I've never had any issues with it like you've mentioned . Cruise control wasn't a factor in any of my instances where it accelerated without being prompted to
Mine will take off from a dead stop at 0 while using adaptive cruise. I've played around with it while following cars through and at traffic lights. My car will stop itself behind another car and in order to resume when the car takes off you hit the X/O button. It will even say this on the dash.

As others have stated, I’ve accidentally hit the button in parking lots also and the car accelerated.

I hope you get this figured out.

So under this logic while parking (at 2-4mph ) if by chance I tap the cruise control it will attempt to speed up to what I had it set at? I'm not being sarcastic at all but that in itself doesn't sound normal let alone safe. Not arguing with anyone , or looking for anything more than honest opinions, and I thank everyone for more perspective on this , but my dealership and ford must think it's bigger than user error since they held my vehicle for over a month now

First, I'd argue that your dealership may 1) not know better and 2) may not be even looking into the matter.

Yes, while you are driving slow, if you hit RESUME, then it will in fact engage. You can experiment with this in a safe area, and determine how it works.

For example, when stopped at a traffic light behind a vehicle, I can engage the system to accelerate to 60mph. It won't do anything, until the car in front of me starts to drive and I hit Resume (but if it was already engaged, in Stop and Go mode, it would not require me to hit Resume).

Once while my wife was driving , and it sped up while in one pedal mode,
Then again the same day when I was parking it in one pedal mode it accelerated while I was letting up on the accelerator .
And finally coming out of you turn it decided to accelerate and had to jam on the brakes...
I called Ford and they told me to take it in to my dealer and it's been sitting there for a month now .. Anyone else have any acceleration issues with there 2022 mach e? My dealership keeps giving me me gas guzzling loaners (2023 explorer & a 2023 ford f150) I just want my ev back but without issue
When first getting used to my 2021 Mach-E i had unintended acceleration. The cruise control button was the culprit, is easy to accidentally engage. Poor position on the steering wheel. It took it happening a couple times before adjusting my hand position.

The only time my car has started accelerating without me expecting it, I had accidentally turned on cruise control every single time and it defaulted to the minimum speed which was faster than I was going at the time. That button is very easy to hit on the steering wheel on accident.
I did that once too.

I also question if the dealer is really doing anything. One way you can test this theory is to look at the current mileage on your Ford Pass App and compare it to the mileage when you dropped off the car. If there is less than 5 miles added to the car since you dropped it off, they are obviously not working on anything since they would need to be driving the car a lot more than that to try to duplicate the concern.

My first call would be to the dealer to see exactly what has been done so far and what is the current plan for repair. If that call left a lot unanswered (which I believe it will), the next call would be to the BEV team at Ford explaining what has happened so far, that the car has been at the dealer for over a month now, and what the dealer just explained to you on the phone.

I was just thinking a call to the BEV team would be in order, if it hasn’t been done already.

Hi Donnie! I can look into your Mach-E's acceleration concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

That all might be true , but in one out of the 3 times it accelerated without prompt my wife who doesn't have those features in use under her profile had the same issue and it was accelerating towards a vehicle ahead of us that was stopped at an intersection, I could be just hitting the adaptive cruise but this still is concerning for myself and family. I love my mach e , and maybe it's user error on my part but I don't think my concerns are unreasonable based on the year prior having the a similar issue. I called Ford before going to my dealer and explain in great length my concerns and they suggested me taking it in to my dealership. Also they have taking it out for a test or 2 , I can see it on my app and I'm within close proximity of my dealership and have spoken to them , but they just don't have answers. Thank you for your insight

It's not being activated at the slow speed. It's being activated at some point while driving at street speeds. So long as my foot is on the accelerator, it doesn't take over. When I remove my foot at a stop sign (I feather the pedal to control 1 pedal regen braking without using the brake pedal), it then engages and wants to accelerate. It wouldn't be a problem with 2 pedal driving because using the brake pedal would disable it. The bump of the button could have happened 10 minutes or more prior to the unexpected acceleration. I had no clue what was happening the first several times it happened to me. I eventually connected the dots.

I can't remember what it's called, it's something like speed limit recognition, but there is a setting that reads the speed limit sign and has a tolerance for how much faster you want to go. You have to turn that off. I had the same experience after I had mine at the dealer for something else and they tweaked the settings and it felt like the car had a mind of it's own. Adjusting the tolerance to zero solves it.
