Got the answer from my dealer: the left-side pads are part number LJ9Z-58044E84-C. Not sure if the last-letter difference is just a revision, or if they're truly separate parts, but both -B and -C comprise the full set.
-B is the full set, -C is a subset. Use the number I gave. Looks like they need to fire their parts guy cause he can't read. ?

I gave them your number exactly! Not sure what the confusion was.

Today's update: right-side foam pads received! Should have the car re-assembled by end of day today, then tomorrow the software updates start. If that goes well, I could have my car back by tomorrow evening!

Fingers, toes, and everything else crossed!

what a saga! I wonder if you can ask what modules they are updating and if there is anything particular in the fix process these days that could be different. My HVBJB repair didn’t involve any module updates.

I don't think the software updates are directly related to the HVBJB fix, it's just that there are open SSMs/other outstanding actions that they can roll into the same warranty repair. I really want the better charging curve, so I'm all for it!

Got it yes there’s lots of good updates to get while you’re there!

I am worried it will stop working at speed with my family in it while I drive it on a highway.
This is causing the "contactors" in the HVBJB that actually make the connection happen to arc and literally fuse themselves together stuck.
These two things don't go together. When the car is on the contactors are closed. When the car turns off, it opens them. If they are fused/stuck and can't be opened then you'll get a Stop-Safely when you next try to turn it on.

There may be other issues that can happen while the car is moving and cause a "stop safely now", they might even be HVBJB problems, but they aren't stuck contactors.

"Stop Safely Now" is not a trouble code, its just the message to the driver... it doesn't tell anyone what sort of problem the car has -- just that its a bad problem.

Sure, you're not going to know what happened without the precise DTC codes.

I think in all of the cases where the cars have died either while driving or like mine while stationary, owners have had to have the HVBJB replaced, and in some situations, wiring harnesses and the BECM has also needed to be replaced.

I just got my MMEGT back after 14 days out of service from the “Stop Safely Now” message. My service center said the 12v battery was low so they charged it up. Next they “performed some recalibrations and installed some software updates, one of which was a recall for an issue that can cause a no-start situation.” The car drives again! My service ticket is still open, however, so that I can bring it back in to troubleshoot my Ford Mobile Charger - some time next week after they get a 240V outlet installed…

Oh boy. I have been thinking for much of the last year that at least our problem child hasn't had the SSN message come up in 13k miles and low and behold I get it today. The car was driven in the morning to work, charged to about 65%, then back home. A 15 mile errand and then as I headed out to pick up some take-out I hit the accelerator to get onto the main road and just when I started to accelerate comes a hard jolt, loss of main power and the litany of powertrain failure messages etc, along with SSN. As I was only 2 blocks from the house I turned it off with the hopes that it would reset after a few minutes and I'd be able to get it to the garage and deal with later.

Try restarting, only goes into full acc mode, no drive. Resigned that I may have to have it towed to dealer I wait a few more minutes and then try again, sure enough I get it going and make it home. Looks like I'll need to go through the forums and see what next steps to take before/if I setup a service appointment.

You can see sorta what happened if you have an OBD reader and use an app on your phone to pull the Diagnostic Test Codes (DTC). But in any case, I think you gotta get it to a dealer -- you don't want to ignore this, sounds like a safety issue to me. You're in the Bay Area, I had a great experience with the service department at Sunnyvale Ford.

One code from my reader P0AA2- I see in the other forums this may mean replacing junction box and HV control module. No freezing temps here of course. I picked up the car from Sunnyvale but have been doing service at Capital. Just tried to charge the car, orange circle/fault. Will not start, multiple malfunctions, accessory mode only, so no longer just a potential safety issue.

So sorry to hear that -- welcome to the HBVJB replacement club. P0AA2 appears to be that your contactors are stuck open. Mine were stuck closed.

I didn't have a super-terrific sales experience with Sunnyvale.

However --- Sunnyvale's service dept knew what they were doing to repair the Mach-E, and the service advisor Andersen was extremely responsive with a texting system that let us message all the time. This alone was so much better than having to call and leave voicemails for a service advisor and calls back like it was 1973.
