I'm 4393, in the first 5000! Woohoo! Seriously, that was pretty easy. Ordered about half an hour ago but email (with no delivery date) came just 5 minutes ago.

Something to keep in mind, if you've never charged (e.g. a Tesla) at one of these locations. The default cables are extremely short, even Teslas have to back in where the charging ports are. Mach-E compatible superchargers will need those upgraded with longer cables (black collar ones as indicated in the ford page below).

https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...charging/how-to-find-tesla-superchargers/#how

I can't find any in my region in Ford Pass, but maybe the black collar ones could be those on Tesla's "3rd party" list?

https://www.tesla.com/findus?v=2&bo...3945926,-115.02099728125&zoom=6&filters=party

That page also shows the stations that are "Open to NACS" that could work with the adapter... But if it isn't upgraded yet, cables may be too short, which would potentially mean you could only charge at an end spot where you could somehow get close enough to the cable.

TLDR; While it's good to reserve the adapter and be prepared for rainbows and sunshine, it might disappointing if anyone expects that all superchargers will suddenly be available the moment your adapter arrives. By the time the adapters ship, hopefully more of the stations will be updated to the black collar cables.

This isn’t a ford production demand problem. It’s a license problem. They probably had salesforce licenses for a few hundreds logins a day (who regularly logs into connected services for the hell of it?) and then got bombarded by multiple thousand of us in the span of an hour hitting refresh (which would make requests per hour go from 100 to 25,000)

Part of the problem is when each customer hits refresh again and again.

Ford tried to make the reserve process easy by populating the VIN and address but in doing so, it causes many interconnections.

Here's a link that explains what happens during a Flash Sale:
What Does Your Webserver Do When a User Hits Refresh?

In a flash sale scenario, with our app servers under high load, response time grows. As our response time increases, customers attempting to buy items will hit refresh in frustration. This was causing a snowball effect that would contribute to reduced availability.

Ford EV Access to Superchargers

Starting 2/29 8am ET, Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E retail customers become the first of any non-Tesla automaker to gain access to Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada.

The 15,000+ available Tesla Superchargers more than double customer access to reliable DC fast charging on the BlueOval Charge Network.

We’re saying thank you to our Ford EV customers by making the Fast Charging Adapter (NACS) available at no cost to new and existing customers enrolled in the BlueOval Charge Network through June 30, 2024. The Adapter is required to charge at upgraded Tesla Superchargers. You can reserve yours by visiting Ford.com/FastChargingAdapter

Ordering an Adapter
1. Head to ford.com/FastChargingAdapter to learn more and log in to FordPass. The Fast Charging Adapter Reservation will be the first tile within the Connected Service Home Page.
2. Click on the ‘Reserve your adapter at no cost’ button to start the ordering process
3. Your shipping information will be pre-populated based on your Ford Pass account, just verify that all the information is accurate, update if needed, and click ‘Reserve’.
4. And that’s it! From there you will get a confirmation screen with helpful information on a forthcoming automated over-the-air update and a link to our FAQ Hub.
5. Additionally, you will receive confirmation email with a personalized link to check the status of your reservation.

Customers who are not yet enrolled in BlueOval Charge Network will be prompted to enroll before ordering their fast charging adapter.

Ford Pro customers will be contacted this Spring via mail or a Ford Pro account manager with instruc&ons on how to order.

Locating and Activating Upgraded Superchargers
Ford customers can use the FordPass App, or in-vehicle SYNC 4 Charge Assist (soon to be 'Public Charging' App) to locate all chargers, including new Tesla Superchargers, just like before.

Integration to routing will come with a future over-the-air update.

In the future, Tesla Superchargers will be coming to:
  • Apple Maps EV Routing (with Apple CarPlay)
  • Google Maps EV Routing (with Android Auto)
  • Ford Connected Built-In Navigation

3. Plug the Fast Charging Adapter into your vehicle.
4. With Plug & Charge active, charging should begin automatically.

BlueOval Charge Network
The BlueOval Charge Network, North America’s largest public charging network offered by an automaker, is a “network of networks” that provides Ford EV drivers with easy access to a variety of charging providers without the need for multiple apps and memberships.

With the addition of Tesla Superchargers, the BlueOval Charge Network currently has more than 126,000 chargers, including more than 28,000 fast chargers, with more being added every week.

The network provides one seamless stored payment account through the FordPass App, or Charge Assist (soon to be “Public Charge” App) in the vehicle’s touchscreen, that eliminates the need for onsite credit card use. Once owners have created an account, they can then select, activate, and pay for charging by using the FordPass App's “View Chargers” functionality.

Optimizing the Charging Experience
1. Precondition the vehicle while charging whenever possible to optimize battery range in hot or cold environments.
2. Set Departure Times in the FordPass App or in-vehicle screen to automatically heat or cool your vehicle’s interior for when you need it, drawing energy while plugged in to help save your battery for the road and warm the battery when it is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Turn cabin heat off while charging when possible and use heated seats and steering wheel (when equipped; not available on E-Transit) to reduce HVAC energy.
4. If snowing, remove all ice and snow from the vehicle before driving; try to keep driving speeds moderate and ensure tires are properly inflated.
5. When searching for chargers in the FordPass App, you can adjust your filters to make sure you’re searching for the charge station type that makes the most sense for your current need, whether it’s a Level 2 AC charger or Level 3 DC fast charger.
