New FordPass app? Not sure how I feel.

It looks nice, but does it work any better? Because the current app is pretty awful. Any action takes 10-30 seconds and are pretty prone to just failing.

Actually yeah I’ve found it much snappier and haven’t seen any failed actions except if I’m trying to pop the frunk with a LVB below 75. Even PAAK seems to be working better.

Some of us still don’t have a frunk open button to bury in a sub menu, so be grateful for what you have

Has anyone figured out how to search for chargers visually on a map like the old version?

Also, in the new version, the only filter there is 120kw and above. So it's impossible to look for slower fast chargers without also having the list of all level 2 chargers!

These two points make it more difficult to plan our recharges in advance in anticipation of long trips.

I have not see any difference in my Ford Pass app. Am I missing something. It did update on both my iPad and my Android phone but I see no diference.

I appreciate the attempt to help and that some of you would not understand the struggle that us original purchasers have had. But yes - I’ve had phone as a key enabled for almost 3 years.

The issue is that the original 2021s were not shipped with the ability to open the frunk from the phone or from the vehicle screen (only means is by pulling the hood release lever twice).

After almost 3 years since Mach e shipments began, there was finally an OTA that enabled this feature for the original 2021 cars. Sadly ford paused the rollout of the 6.x updates when my car was on the update right before the one that added the frunk open feature. So I’m still sitting here like an idiot double pulling the lever.

There is no map function in the new app it seems. I think they assume you’ll use the map in the car and the charge assist sync app. Honestly plug share is better than the FordPass map.

fair. I get your frustration. They made the Tesla update a priority update when I won’t have an adapter for 3 more months but the fix for my Bluecruise which I’ve been without for 2 months and am paying for? That’ll come whenever.

It’s a button you push at the bottom of the screen to switch to the new app. Only some people get to push the button. Most people have no button.

I enjoy observing development work.
And since it's been part of my profession to do so for the last 1/4 century, I don't underestimate the amount of effort behind the scenes to accomplish even the most minor detail.

As fortune has it, I just moments ago was given the opportunity to try the beta. Pretty painless, especially since I can opt-in/out at a whim.
