Normal for driving 65mph at what outside temperature (80F?) and are we talking smooth flat dry roads and on cruise control?

Rule of thumb: If you drive like a grandma around town at 25mph in the warm summer (80F) your range will be 100 miles higher than the EPA estimate, if you drive like a NASCAR driver at 80mph in the cold winter temperatures (25F) your range will be 100 miles less than the EPA range estimate.
65, 66° flat roads and cruise on!

Here is our typical in town driving trip. The temperature was warmer than normal for this time of year.
The speeds were typically 35-45MPH. Much better efficiency (4.4/kWh) than earlier in the winter.

Is the GOM the same thing as the actual percentage? I don’t really pay attention the expected range metric - only really looking at the percentage so far.
The problem is that the amount of energy the battery holds varies by temperature, so 100% "full" at cooler temperatures is fewer kWh than 100% at higher temperatures. So sadly that's not a reliable way to determine your efficiency (miles/kWh). And on short trips the battery percentage can jump around a bit.

Before you go on your 200 mile trip beside to schedule preconditioning for around your planned departure time and stay plugged in until your depart. And also charge to 100% the night before (or day of) your departure. You will very likely have no problems, but as others have said, knowing where you'll charge in case you need it will be a good idea.

Also, if you've not yet done DCFC charging, it's best to try that out before your trip since it's a bit of a learned experience. (And remember, unless you bought a 3rd party adapter, you don't (yet) have access to Tesla Superchargers.)

Have a great trip.

Best thread I’ve read so far! As a newby too I have learned a lot here today.

Any thoughts about resetting the, what is it called, the driving habits recorder? Maybe the test drives and folks at the dealership were driving it nascar style and mess up the GOM? (Hee hee love that term)

I’d be curious about that too! Good point.

Don't waste your time.

There is nothing you can reset to change the efficiency you get. Resetting EV driving history resets the GOM, nothing more. You don't look at it you said.

Absolutely do . Test drivers probably had heat blasting . Start and stops a little aggressive to "put it through its paces " . For clarification we're talking about trips in the menu . EV driving history . It's good to do it at the approach of winter also so you get more accurate numbers for the cold . Summer numbers are full of "free miles" and higher numbers and will throw off the GOM during the time you need it the most ...winter

I think I’ve asked this question before, but I can’t remember where I did it at?
Driving around town going on a trip which side of the battery icon do you believe in more, the percentage or the mileage?

Ive only had my car a month. I have made 3 trips of about 200 miles each and done a lot of around town driving. About 1700 miles total. I find there is good corelation between the two values based on the amount of energy put in during charging vs what the car says was remaining. I probably lean toward the percentage more though.

I am no expert and have done no long trips but this is how I would approach things - use MyTrip and percentage. Convert percentage to kW and then multiply by my current MyTrip results and that is my current range. Wind, temp, speed, terrain can affect things so it will vary. Around town in summer I get 3.5 mi/kWh so at 90% I am good for around 250 miles and if I was cruising then it would go down to 2.5 and I may be good for 200 miles. Just a bit of math to go along with driving conditions/habits.

Wanted to chime in with a lesson I learned on our first long distance drive (Winter, mountains, was a learning experience lol).

When you're doing a 400+ mile trip, definitely check the tire pressure beforehand. I know, this is a good rule of thumb for any car, but we kind of ignored it and losing that 5% or so of range for not having them fully pumped up really does add up over hundreds of miles!

Things like how hard you accelerate, how aggressive the regen is on your selected mode, accessory use, climate control use, how much weight is in the Mach-E (or if you are towing something) can all greatly impact the GOM display. However, Ford has tuned it to err on the side of caution, to decrease the chance of getting stranded. If you are planning a trip, make sure to either use the Ford built-in Connected navigation or a one that can communicate with the Mach-E (Apple Maps via CarPlay seems to?) for the routing. It will monitor battery drain, distances to next charge, and route you accordingly. It will even predict what your expected SOC will be when you arrive. Good luck
