The UI seems pretty clear that there are three tabs, one for "current trip" and the time it's using, which is since last power restart, then there are two other tabs much like the trip odometer (A and B) that's standard on different cars. Under current trip you can see the miles and time it's collected.

That being said, it always seems that number is more like the last 15 minutes than the entire trip. I suspect, for me, that's a *feeling* more than reality. I chalk it up to the amount of heating and cooling going into the battery, the amount of energy the car takes in the first short period, when I'm especially around town waiting for lights. I trust the car (kinda :) ) more than my own perception.

It is, essentially, a glaring omission to not have a graph or a "last 15 minutes" function. Every hybrid I've seen has the function, many ICE cars focusing on efficiency have the function. I think this was a choice from Ford to not worry our pretty little heads about details, because the MachE brand is not about economy, it's about power and speed!!!!! . I respect that, I suppose.
I really think that it could do with two numbers. The "current" say calculated over the last mile, and the "accumulative" which would be the total Kwh over the total miles for the trip.

That would be an improvement, and certainly we can't expect Ford buyers to understand a graph, unlike Tesla or Prius buyers.

OP: wind (!!), rain, and your cruising speed all make a huge difference in range—like, we’ve seen our 300+ EPA estimate actually deliver about 180 miles when hitting 35mph headwinds and driving at 75mph.

Make sure you download PlugShare, Electrify America, and the Tesla apps. ā€œA Better Route Plannerā€ (ABRP) can also be quite helpful. ABRP will connect to a Bluetooth low energy OBD dongle and give you a substantially more accurate Guess O Meter than what Ford gives you.

Having a NACS adapter really increases the number of chargers available to you. Giving Space Karen any money is not great, but if you don’t have any other options, it’s a good backup.

When searching for stations, don’t bother charging at any station that isn’t delivering at least 100kW. Expect charge rates of between 70-130kW. I think my 2021 RWD premium extended high score is 160kW, but that was for a couple minutes, when the temperature was juuuust right, and the state of charge (SOC) was very low (25%)

Etiquette: don’t fast charge past 80% if anyone else is waiting: your car throttles down to something like 15kW for the last 20%. You’re wasting your time and everyone else’s.

Your default assumption should be that every public charging station is broken (it’s certainly not that bad, but it’s a conservative default). Only drive to any charging station that has a recent (within a couple days) in plug share that says the station is working and operable.

Depending on where you are, you may really want to plan ahead (if there aren’t many charging stations), or just drive like you would a gas car: find the next charging station when you’re at 30% or whatever, charge to 80% while you take a bathroom break or snack, and get back on the road.

Hello Everybody!
I've had my 2025 Mach-E, AWD with Extended Range (black on black) and I am really enjoying the vehicle. This is my first EV, so please bear with me. Driving around town is a ton of fun, and on the highway, such a comfortable ride.

However, I took it on my first extended drive (210 miles round trip) and I have a question on how range is calculated. The vehicle now has 410 total miles driven. The range calculation to battery charge has me a little concerned. Currently, I am seeing a 70% charge and 165 miles of range.

That seems low to me, considering I purchased the Extended Range/Dual Motor option with the Premium trim AWD.

My research has told me that the range calculations change the more you drive the car, which I understand. But, that doesn't help my anxiety. I spoke with a Ford Customer Service rep via text yesterday, and they confirmed I did in fact purchase a Extended Range AWD Premium version of the car. (I had to contact Ford, because the dealership I bought this vehicle from was next to worthless in answering questions. It's a long story).

Anyway, I do really like the car. I figured this was a good place to start to either ease my concerns or add even more anxiety. Hahaha.

I appreciate your thoughts and insight. This seems like a very welcoming community.

Peace!
First: Congratulations on purchase.

Second: your GOM looks very reasonable if you are driving mostly freeways at 70-80mph. The estimated range is the estimate in ideal conditions. so your range will improve when you drive 60-70mph and will be probably the best 30-50mph.

you should be find with 210 miles round trip if you keep yourself from 85-95mph and avoid mountain roads.

EPA efficiency labels (both ICE & EV) are primarily intended to provide a standardized rating to allow consumers to fairly compare different makes & models.

It is much less to do with what you might actually achieve.

Welcome to our awesome car.

Despite getting it new, you should have or should reset the driving history in the settings of the center console. That way, it will start from a clean point. My new 2024 had 250 miles on it, so I reset it.

As mentioned above, Ford should have given you a bunch of points with your purchase or lease that you can use towards service or accessories. Perhaps you can use them to get the mobile charger. Or look ib the marketplace of this forum since people usually sell it cheaper.

You know what would be even better? Ford should have an option to silence all the unwanted warnings texts that are accompanied by repeated beeps.

For example, if I have adaptive cruise control turned off, it beeps at me three times the first time I use it. I know it’s turned off, cause I’m the one who turned it off! Or how about the warning text/beep that tells e to look for children in my back seat when I turn the car off? I’m 73 and don5 have any kids to put in the back seat. There are others, but you get the point.

That would be a nice upgrade.

I wonder if anyone has died taking their eyes off the road looking at some ridiculous warning text?

We are empty nesters. Kids die in cars every years, and untold numbers are saved by that warning, which only comes on if you opened the backdoor before starting the vehicle.

I can deal with it, small price to pay.

Not ever going to agree with you on that one.

But, as I said, that’s not the only annoying frequent warning message.

I understand Tesla listens for occupants and turns on climate control if it detects life signs. They say it’s to save pets from thoughtless owners. That is technology I can support.

On my ā€˜25, I was able to turn off the warning/beep regarding children in the back seat (ours are all grown up, too). On your touchscreen under Settings, the choose Vehicle, there is an option…Rear Occupant Alert. I turned it off.
