New software update (via dealer)

Wish there was more info in the vid--my unfortunate experience is that the customer has to come armed with info to the dealership to specify exactly WHAT is now available, not the other way around. Any particular version number/build/TSB or some other identifier to share with the service department?

Plus, most dealers will not just run a free update unless it it under the guise of trying to fix something broken with your individual car.

I should have a VCM here this week. Planning on buying an FDRS 2 day sub and updating every module in my Mach E and Truck. FDRS can do Sync 3/4 firmware and software updates so I'll let everyone know how that goes...

I wish I knew the VIN of that GT that someone posted screenshots of with the frunk opening button. If Ford hasn't released that for my VIN yet FDRS won't update it, however I can manually look up the IVSUs with that other VIN and manually flash them to the APIM/GFM or whatever is required. Luckily it is easy to change software versions back if something isn't compatible. Been doing this a long time with UCDS, but it doesn't support the Mach-E yet sadly.

Apple Maps information on middle display is awesome!

BUT there are no updates in germany yet.
Really annoying

Hopefully they’ll add it for Google Maps and Waze.

Has anyone seen this?


I'm waiting for the update but so far, I'm not seeing it.

Features I'm interested:
1. Apple CarPlay driving directions displays on the driver's screen
2. More miles (241 on a standard range battery!)
3. Frunk button!

EV Dave's initial videos of the MME were the ones that made me want to scream watching him. It just reminded me of trying to teach someone that was switching from iPhone to Android, and not getting any of it.

I've seen him described as Grandpa Joe from the Simpsons. Seems accurate.

You may notice an icon in the status bar on your vehicle's center display, like those shown near the bottom of this page.

Here's more info on in-vehicle system updates.

You might also/instead see a notification about the update in the FordPass app on your phone.

I don't think #2 (more range) is a product of the updates. Just normal GOM behavior.

We’ll for some folks the GOM goes up over time. For others, Ford could’ve chiseled a random low number into the screen.
