hmm so many questions...
  • Is this technical limitation or a business decision? (e.g. cars are out of warranty, or are not paying for enhanced connectivity etc.)
  • Is the code available in FDRS, but simply not pushed via OTA?

I was going to suggest using the link to "check your BC availability" but it just ended up in a loop for me (not sure if that's my work computer being dumb or Ford's site being garbage though).

https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...assist-features/ford-bluecruise-availability/

I could at least see a scenario where they're not going to list all 2021s because some of the hardware may be different. But if that were the case, I'd expect to maybe see a footnote indicating some may be eligible.

The other question would be if this is a new page or has it recently changed - and if so, what did it say before? I was going to look it up in the wayback machine - but it still appears to be down.

Those with an extended warranty have a case against such.

It recently changed, like today or last night. I’ve been watching the page for the past month or so and checking it daily.

it's weird since some people got it already, but it's possible they subsequently realized there is an issue and halted it (since indeed the rollout did not continue)

did all of 2022 get it? i was under the impression their updates weren't continuing either

i got this reply this morning 10/24/24 6:42am after my inquiry sent yesterday 10/23/24 (fast response). granted it’s boiler plate, but it didn’t say 2021s are not getting it…

So happy to hear you’re loving your Mustang Mach-E!

We know that 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E owners with BlueCruise-equipped vehicles are eagerly awaiting the delivery of BlueCruise 1.3.

I can confirm that 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E owners with BlueCruise-equipped vehicles (which includes you as a 2021 owner) will be eligible for the BlueCruise 1.3 update. We are deploying this as a staggered rollout by model year. Every model year is unique and requires a different software package. While 2022 and 2023 Mustang Mach-E updates are currently underway, we don’t have an update to share for 2021 Mach-Es just yet.

I know you’re probably looking for a more definitive timeline, but as soon as we have more to share, we will!

Thanks,
xxxxx

Ford changed their website in the past day and dropped 2021 from the matrix they had published. It had shown 22 and 23 as having the update, and 21 as available soon. Not sure why they changed it if 21 is still getting the update.

Oh look, Yet another communication blunder from Ford.

Truthfully, I’m fine with this so long as the price to renew BC drops accordingly. Bring back the $200/ year subscription for us 1.0 drivers. If Ford wants me to keep my car at the end of my options period, throw us a bone and just give it to us free of charge as an appreciation since they don’t plan to update our cars anymore. Its not looking good for my resale value as it is but just might make 21s ever so slightly more interesting in the resale market.

If this is true then my next EV won’t be a Ford. I already had resale impacted dramatically by price reductions over last couple model years and I resigned up for BlueCruise anticipating 1.3. Disappointing in the latest handling of the early supprters

Blaming Ford for the resale value and price reductions is just plain silly, to put it gently. That is the market and you can blame Tesla much more than anything, since their price cuts forced everyone else to react and follow suit just to compete. Seriously, you think Ford wanted to cut prices so they lost thousands of dollars per car? Come on.

I’m not blaming Ford for price cuts but the way they have sorta forgotten the early adopters is a little disappointing

Yes, this. It doesn't make sense to have to pay the price for a product with less functionality.

I wouldn't count on Ford's one hand knowing what the other hand is doing.
