Quick update for the group, I was contacted by a Karen Jones who is an executive representative for Ford. She said she is going to work with her team and try and get an update for me on my car by Monday.

Again she could simply report back to say that the car is delayed pending microchip hold but wanted to keep everyone in the loop. Also I couldn't tell you what prompted the formal response whether it's all the emails to Ford, their C suite for customer relations, or the new Vehicle service team or tweeting Mike Levine.
I know she won’t have answers and I know you wouldn’t want to “bitch” but what about people getting car built in 2022 etc etc and some of the other things we have been speaking about

Thanks for running this down, hope you get a positive response.

Festivus for the rest us apparently (everyone not on this thread i.e.)

It's like being on an Oprah special unless you have week of 12/6 build

Too bad you guys are in California with me being in NY, we should meet up if we ever get our cars. Somewhere in Kansas?

Maybe the Dakotas since we won't have a use for EV chargers anyway at this rate?

Well this puts things into perspective. Put in the order for a 2022 R1 in Nov. Guess I *may* have it by summer :(.

In my case, pretty much zero. I made the order thru the dealer. From that point, it's out of their hands. They do have a bit of visibility (the VVR), but it's cryptic, too.

This thread is pretty much about my dealer; they've been doing well for those who've ordered MMEs via them.

Also, I asked my sales rep if they cancel an order if the buyer can't pick it up within a week. He said he's heard of some dealers doing that, and thinks its borderline criminal. They will only take the car back if you cancel the order, even after it's received.

YMMV

same for me. My dealer has been upfront on everything and honors everything mentioning things to me before I knew them.

since I am in Florida for a while and I thought the car might be in before I got back I did ask about the car and would they sell it if I couldn’t pick it up in a week. He said no way. They know I am a serious buyer.

there are all kinds of dealers, like everything else. Good , bad and the ugly.

It's getting downright weird how much we seem to be the Mach-E Twins...

How much of this is dealer incompetence?
I initially thought this was 100% the incompetence of my dealer. I wasn't really looking on sites like this or the other Mach-E groups and absolutely could not understand why I wasn't getting any updates from my dealer and why things weren't moving quicker. Then, after I joined this forum and some other groups, it took a while to sort through information that was accurate and wasn't.

For example, early on as I grew increasingly unhappy with my dealer, I saw people saying on different sites that I could just move my order to a new dealer, no more having to deal with them and still hold my place in line! So after a failed attempt (due to the ADM they wanted) to buy a car on the lot that matched my exact order specs, I was boiling mad and convinced myself that I had to get an email from them saying they'd honor MSRP and XPlan or else I threatened to move my order to another dealer.

Well, moving my order turned out not to be something I actually could do and I probably burned some goodwill through the process with my sales rep and didn't get anything out of it (FWIW, I am comfortable enough with having documentation of the price in as much as I have a signed purchase agreement with price details and I'm a lawyer who's always happy to argue).

Now, many months later and after some conversations with the sales manager where he's expressed that he is just as exasperated as I am at the lack of information available from Ford, I really don't think there is much that is within my dealer's control for this whole situation other than that they could have communicated it all much better to me up front.
