I have a new 2024 MME awd extended range which I have only driven 1500 miles. I normally overnight charge to 80%. Last night I set the charge limit to 100% and it only indicated of 274 miles. Shouldn’t I be getting something north of 300 miles. This is our first MME, we traded our 2022 Tesla Y longe range before it completely lost it’s value.

The Guess O Meter (GOM) range estimate isn’t very accurate especially in the beginning. Most of us look at our mi/kw performance or battery consumption to predict total range

Just for comparison, I get around 240 on my Rally with an EPA of 265. This is about 90% of the EPA and represents a high amount of highway (70s mph) driving.

Assuming you have the Premium trim, 90% of 320 is 288. 274 is not far off that.

Tesla set the range meters so that they’d read epa rated range when at 100% soc. Ford chose to use a variable system that accounts for terrain, temperature, driving habits etc. it leads to confusion. It doesn’t help that the calculations are a bit conservative either.

In the 4 years I’ve had my mme (21, AWD ER), my car generally indicates 275 miles or so when at 100%. In reality, I could hit around 300 if I burned the last electron.

Your consternation is not uncommon,

Reset your driving history if you want the EPA range displayed.

FYI- My 2021 Mach e , (delivered January 22) now with 38,000 miles is @ 100% charge. The GOM indicates 274 miles range. When the car was new a 100% charge was closer to 300 miles but never 300 or more.

I have same model. Thought it was 290 EPA w AWD. Either way I’m seeing similar on GOM after only 3,000 mi

I have a 2022 Premium RWD. Recently charged it to 100%. It said I would get 299 miles of range, and it is rated at 303 miles. I drove it for 250 miles, and had 25 miles of range remaining when I plugged it in to charge. So basically I had gotten 275 miles out of that "tank". This represents about a 10% drop in EPA range. That 10% drop is the same drop I see when I compare the MPG rating of my Highlander Hybrid to what I actually get in real usage of the car.

The range or MPG reported on the window sticker is the result of a standardized test(s) that every car undergoes, regardless of whether it is powered by electrons or gasoline/diesel or hydrogen. It is not meant to be a guarantee of the range or MPG you will get, and it specifically states "Your mileage (range) will vary." Want better range/MPG? Drive slower and more conservatively.

The GOM is like the miles to empty estimate in an ICE car. It's gets better from learning your driving behavior but is never perfect. As a note, please understand that your best range you'll achieve will depend on weather, driving habits, and speed. For example, if you are driving on the highway above 70 mph your range would be less than if you were driving 65 in the same temps. So expect your range to be impacted in the winter months

The Mach-E range number will change depending on a variety of factors and should be a more realistic expectation of what you should actually get.

Tesla will always just show the EPA rated range no matter what and it doesn’t vary. But you will never hit that number in actual driving.
