I've got a new OBCC update sitting in FDRS for my 2021 RWD Std MME. I can't recall if this is a quick update or if it requires a power supply.

Could someone please refresh my memory? Any idea what is changing with this update?

TIA!

When I've done it in the past, it seemed pretty quick and didn't need a power supply. I'd make sure the 12v is as charged as possible before starting the update.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll give it a go later today.

Took 4 minutes yesterday using a VCM3 and I did use the powersupply. You might get away without using one, dunno. Just watch to see that it doesn't drop below 10.0V or you'll probably have to go get a PS and do it over.

Thanks, Mike. Maybe I'll just set up the power supply to be safe.

Have you had a chance to test to see if there are any material differences compared to before the update?

Normally, OBCC updates have been pushed out in the past for one of two reasons...either to make the car compatible with some new DC fast charger that has just come out....or to adjust the charge curve (tweak).

I don't know why this one showed up, but we haven't had an OBCC update in a good long while. And it may have been pushed out to correct some other issue that I don't know about.

Not sure if it's the same update however I just received an OBCC OTA update. Not much in the release notes, hopefully it's s tweak in the charging curve. Hoping for the best.

I got it yesterday too (24 Premium). Update OBCC-AS.AU. Release notes are vague:
"We’re updating your vehicle’s Plug & Charge functionality to keep everything running smoothly when connecting to a public DC fast charger "
