I'm currently using the VGate iCar Pro BLE. It works great, and is also compatible with ABRP live data feature. But It also works fine with Torque, and CarScanner, and is compatible with iOS Devices as well.

Hello, I saw that you use the icar so I got one and cannot get it to connect. I plug it in my mme and see the 3 lights and then it goes to the one red light. I have an android s21 ultra and cannot get it going. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should actually see two BT names for it.

If you want to use it as a classic Bluetooth device, do a normal pairing with the Android-Vlink option.

If you want to use BLE, don't pair it, just open your app and choose it.

Once it connects the blue light will light up and flash as data is transferred.


If you're trying to use carscanner, you need to go to the apps settings and set it up.

You can choose BT or BLE.


BT: (Pair the device in your android bluetooth connections FIRST)

BLE: (No pairing required, Just search for it in the app)

I really appreciate all the effort you put in this trying to show me. I think that I did do what you showed and all I got was just that red light and an error message from car scanner saying cannot connect. I will try again to make sure I did get every perimeter set right. Thanks so much again. Terry

I did do a firmware update on the dongle before I used it. That may be required.

All sorts of stuff. High voltage battery SOC, KwH to empty. State of 12V battery. Temp of various components. Steering angle. Whether your brake light is on. Tire pressure.

On my RAV4, I could use Carista (app and OBD2 reader) and set all sorts of things. But Carista doesn't support Fords.

There are no phone apps that can make changes. There is a windows application called "Forscan" that can make configuration changes though. Another is UCDS, but it costs money.
