Lyriq v is definitely on my radar too. Looks are subjective, but imo it does look better. And their blue is better than ours.

Plus they actually have ventilated seats and V2H ability so I can use the car as a backup battery for my home.

Will check in a couple years - cant justify an 80k to 85k car though. That's corvette territory. The mach e gt is objectively a better value, esp if they finally give us ventilated seats.

Was going to test drive a Lyric, but nobody had one. Would have to be the V model to compete with the GT-PE. Then, the price ...... V is a LOT more $$ in Canuckistan.

Too early to really think about my replacement since my lease isn’t up until 2028 and a lot can change by then. But so far the new iX3 is shaping up to be very competitive spec wise.

Most likely will go used when the time comes and will probably go back to something German unless the next gen Mach-E proves to be a competitive offering. I like the Cadillac interior styling but no CarPlay is a sticking point.

We've got a reservation on the EREV Scout SUV. Might keep the MachE just as a DD, dunno.

I am waiting too, next to likely be a Lucid Earth or Rivian R1T (maybe scout Terra)

The Lyriq likely has a smoother ride but is neither as fun to drive nor as fast. So depends on your priorities

I might get to the point where I can't drive a car by the time I give up my Mach-E.

I leased a 2024 but only went one year with it because we got a Select when we should have really got a Premium, but at the time we couldn't find a Premium configured the way we wanted. So, we traded in for a 2025 Premium configured exactly how we wanted it. It is also a lease, but only because that was the cheapest way to buy it.

The 2024 was the first car that we had ever leased. And the main reason for that was "technology is moving so fast we don't want to be locked in". The year with the 2024 taught us two things, one that in fact the technology isn't moving that fast. And the second thing is that it "doesn't matter if does move fast".

This 2025 serves our needs, is the best car to drive we have ever had. We seldom go on long trips, and we have no desire to drive 500 miles at a time. So, don't care if we charge for about 1/2 hour. And we don't drive in cold/snow, there isn't any reason to care about anything coming.

I can't see my wife ever giving up her 2008 Mustang, and the I can't see me ever giving up my 2025 Mach-E. My record for length of ownership of a car is 26 years, so maybe one of these will beat that record.

It is sort of interesting to listen to people talk about the need for luxury when in fact the Mach-E might be most luxury car we have owned. And that includes an old Cadilac my wife owned for a while. Note so far only one person has ever ridden in the back of our Mach-E, and only to take them home from the airport. We aren't concerned about that either. Mind you it is a lot more fun and smoother in the driving seat though (we share that experience).

I did love the Lyriq's looks but it is 20% heavier than the Mach E GT, and you'll feel it. The new V trim doesn't look as good as luxury, while with luxury all sportiness is gone

2026 models do finally bring hands on lane centering, a top feature for me, but it remains to be seen whether it will be as good as Ford's

I've lost my desire for Cadillac tbh. I want the Optiq V (or CT5) to look like the XT4, with latte color available and quality hands on lane centering

I can't get my head around to the 3D screen? Hopefully the pictures are not accurate

Back in the day, my dad loved his Oldsmobile 98. Yes, it road smooth, if you don't mind driving a boat.

Thanks for you experiences and perspective. Now with 22k miles on the GTPE and I hope it stays in the family for awhile. Perhaps hand it to my son in four years and by then - new technology EVs should have solid state / improved batteries, faster charging and perhaps a two speed transmission for improved range.
Of course AWD and at least similar performance to a GT/GTPE will be required . What else would you want? I like others will wait for new technology and a transformative experience . The old GTPE could be here a long time

The Mach-E is the best midsized SUV on the market, bar none. I could have saved them some time and just told them that. There is no comparison. That’s why many of us are upset that @Ford Motor Company has not announced any definitive plans around the next generation. I’ve already replaced my 22 with a 24. I can’t keep buying the same model. Now refresh the damn thing and take my money already.

Does anyone already try the 2026 Polestar 4 (I'm not sure that it's available in the US yet) ? I consider it as an option for the remplacement of my 2023 GT

The insides of Polestars don’t feel very premium. They are cramped. They are overpriced. Hence I chose not to buy one, the three times I have had a chance to buy an EV in the last few years.
