Lyric-V, Blazer SS, R3X, Scout, or the Kia/Hyundai performance model for me. I really doubt we’ll stay with Ford Unless they step it up more. But we’ll see.
If the Lyric-V had CarPlay and a useful frunk, or they Hyundai/kia twins had a useful frunk and larger displays, I’d be open to considering them.

I like Hyundai spaceship interiors (a relative has one) but for me I much prefer the Mach E GT driving experience. That being said the Ioniq was not an N

Even so I prefer the always on 1 pedal (EDIT: turn on stays on; turn off stays off) of the Mach E. I think the Ford steering wheel button layout is more suited to our brain hemispheres as well

GV60 looks like a mini Emeya except too cute; not as posh or advanced. Tromso Green is a good color. But the car is pointless to have with a Mach E GT

While Hyundai line cars don't have true hands free ADAS, their hands on lane centering is excellent

Audis some how look generic to me. I'd much rather have a Porsche than an Audi. I like that they've copied the sequential turn signaling from Ford though, and their interfaces can be very nice

Lyriq V is too big and heavy, and until the Optiq V is less ugly and GM truly has competitive hands on lane centering I'll pass. I might buy an XT4 if it had competitive ADAS

Finally, there is a universe where I'd buy advanced ADAS enabled and sporty versions of the Aston Martin looking Ford Fusion and the early 2020s Lincoln Corsair

Thanks you for your attention to this matter

In the Audi, I think mine might be shifting around 50. It is a rocket off the line even without boost (it has been too cold for the full 911HP to be available in boost). Better efficiency and new larger battery is definitely noticeable in terms of range.
It varies for the Taycan based on drive mode as well.

Those gen 1.2 cars are absurdly fast. Even faster when you throw a MapEV tune in them.

It’s crazy. Even the Taycan 4 can run high 9 second 1/4 mile times in the 140 mph range with a tune.

CarPlay is a big factor for us as we hate this subscription service BS auto manufacturers are pushing. Which I believe the current Cadillac models have, but won’t for the following years. Nothing like strapping our phones back to the dash for (most part) free navigation. Back to the year 2010 we go! 🤣

We will see what Ford has to offer in 27-28. I know I want ventilated seats in the performance model. If a panoramic glass roof, I want it to retract. Better charging speed and 300 miles range, or more. Preferably better cabin heating. I also would like to be able to pre heat the battery off plug so jail bars aren’t maxed out.

I like the Hyundai Ioniqs also, but I did not find their seats to be comfortable.

Ok - if I retire the GTPE ( to family member or bored ) the Taycan EV wagon WITH a CPO is my dream replacement . Yes I know the stopped making the “wagon” but it would be used ….
Getting back into a Porsche would be fun .

I like the Porsche wagons a lot. Enough that I've done a few searches for used ones, although I haven't looked lately. My takeaway: they are fairly rare and desirable, and they are priced accordingly. I'd plan on paying 10-20% more for the wagon version. On the flip side, the E-tron GTs tend to be priced 10-20% less than a similar Taycan, and I prefer the Audi interior, but you give up the wagon shape.

The last few years Mazda has made some better looking cars and upgraded interior quality. This is according to people I talk to who love their Mazda SUV/CUV's CX-whatever. I have not experienced any of this first hand and curious if anyone here has.

Mostly because I've seen their candy apple red color on the roads the last few years and it looks great.

Mazda has an EV over seas CX-6e with 300 miles range but apparently not bringing to the US currently.

They are moving to a bunch of PHEV's but I'm not a fan of PHEV's until they get over 200 miles range. Even then I can't see going back to a non EV after 18 months in this mme.

But a Mazda EV in candy apple red! Zoom Zoom?? Maybe I'll just go to the paint shop at some point.

EVs I like if I had to replace the MME. I like the Lyriq but would want the V series, maybe the pewter/silver Lyriq I saw on the road recently made it better looking then I remember.

But, the Lyriq is not 800 volt if we are future-gazing. And the Optiq is just not as good looking.

Porsche Cayenne EV would be great but $125-$150,000 is too much. Maybe in ten years a retirement present - used and depreciated because autonomous four seater drones take you everywhere for a penny a mile. But it has almost everything except one pedal driving?

Right now though, you can get a brand new Mach-e GT right around $50,000 and I think it's the best looking EV at that price point. Seriously is there a better looking EV at or under 50K? I won't be insulted, I'm probably missing some sedans.

It’s called Soul Red Crystal. I have a gen 4 Mazda 3 AWD sedan in that color with a white leather interior. I am totally biased, but that won’t stop me from saying the car is stunning, particularly in that red.

The cx 6e followed on the heels of the 6e sedan. They’re based on a Chinese EV with exterior and interior styling by Mazda. I don’t know if Mazda was able to do any tweaking to the Chinese partner’s platform or systems. To my knowledge they’re made in China which may complicate efforts to bring the car to the US market.

I saw a 6e sedan in the road in Bergen, Norway last year. Instantly recognizable as a Mazda, looked great. I would definitely take a hard look at both if they were available in the US.

That said, I really like my Mach e too. Driving it and the 185 hp normally aspirated AWD Mazda 3 are very different experiences but, for me, equally entertaining.

While I'm not a station wagon person, the Volvo EX60 P12 looks interesting. I don't think Volvo have a BlueCruise/SuperCruise equivalent, and I don't think they have a frunk. That's two strikes right there. Lack of Apple CarPlay would knock them out entirely.

I switched from my 21 GTPE to a 24 Taycan 4S last year.

On paper I wanted a cross turismo (wagon) version. Then when they were really hard to find and 10k more than an Taycan sedan…. I sat in both and realized there really isn’t much usable difference. A couple inches of head room for rear passengers and a bit of vertical storage space (that you almost never use as it would block your rear view. Plus the sedan just looks better in person.

I definitely am still enjoying driving it. Plus it’s stupid fast. With a MapEV tune even my 4S ran a 10.9 at 129 mph in the 1/4. 2025 would run high 9s with the same tune.
