If you now own a '21 model Mach-E equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 Prep Package (Includes Ford BlueCruise Prep Kit)...but it was never properly updated to be functional, that update program has now been extended out to December of 2024. And before anyone asks, if it was functional, but now doesn't work, that's a warranty issue that's separate from this program.
There are likely owners out there with suitably equipped '21 models that for one reason or another never got the BC update applied. These cars could be trade-ins by previous owners that didn't see the need for the update, or didn't trust 'hands-free' driving, or there weren't any Blue mapped roads in their area, etc. Any number of reasons.
The interesting thing here is that if a suitably equipped car never had BC functionality enabled...there may be other later software updates to the car's other systems that may not be made available for a tech to update with FDRS...because some of the updates required to enable the original BlueCruise functionality have never been applied. So making the decision to not get BC functional could be impacting the car's ability to get further updates due to software dependency requirements.
Even if you never plan on using BlueCruise hands-free mode, and you absolutely are against semi-autonomous driving...you really need to get the updates applied so that all the other improvements to your cars systems will be made available to you.
