I believe he’s joking slightly about the key fob. Early build MY21s only came with one key fob. A lot of people went out and bought spare fobs on their own. Ford now has an optional customer satisfaction program to give us a second key fob if we want one. Apparently fobs are in short supply, so they aren’t publicizing the program yet. I’m in no hurry to get my fob, so I’ll wait until I need to go to the dealer for something else,, then ask for a fob at that time.
Well I knew our EU friends had a program for the extra fobs, but I didn't know we were getting one as well.

By the way...since I check VINs everyday, and updated my OBCC last Saturday, I thought I'd mention there's a new BCM update that just popped up for my '21 Job 1 this morning. Pretty sure everybody else, at least with a Job 1 will be getting that. I don't know if it's also the subject of a future OTA or not.

Wow! So all this time and you were never getting OTAs? And none of the people around here with FDRS access were able to run your VIN and figure out what might have been going on? I really feel for you. I complained about some of the delays in getting my OTAs and being “stuck” for a while, but what you went through is pretty sad. Sounds like your dealer was supportive though!
I received all the OTAs. Never had any trouble receiving them as far as I know. They just didn't seem to do anything useful. Also able to run my own VIN via PTS. Nobody could tell for certain why my car wouldn't take the BC software. Was a big mystery.
Eventually they figured it out though. First try for dealer was in April. Then the OTAs arrived in May. Now Aug and the dealer wanted to give it another try. Took them about 8 hours and a they had to open a ticket with the Ford hotline but they got it done it seems.

That could be the case. I was just surprised to get the extra fob. When I asked about it, the service advisor just shrugged and said there was something in the system that directed them to issue another key fob. The Satisfaction Program explanation makes sense.

They got it figured out BC works now.
Apparently it comes with another key fob. I only gave them one fob this morning. I asked the service advisor about the second fob and he said the system said to give me another fob and program it.

Now I have 4 of these. ?

Actually, the CSP allows you to go to Ford to get reimbursed for one of the ones you bought. You may be able to get 4 for the price of 2.

Okay. Thanks for the info. Had no idea about this.
I didn't purchase the 2 fob through the dealer though.......would that qualify still?

hmm. I had 21P22 and 21G01 performed by the dealer in May, I have a bluecruise map expiration date, but I have yet to see any evidence that BC is functional. Although I rarely drive on BC enabled highways, I-5 should be one. Modules that are not up-to-date are DSM, BCM and WACM. Maybe I need to have the dealer take another look?

Aha, it was another missing IPC update due to corrupted server data. That seems to have been the fix for several "stubborn" vehicles where everything shows updated but it still doesn't work. @mpshizzle this was the same problem you had too?

Do you have frunk button now?

No. I think you need to have PaaK set up for that to work. Is that correct? I got tired of setting up PaaK everytime my company gives me a new phone so I don't bother any more. PaaK still works on my old phone though. I'll check it out when I get home.

Yes. Just have to provide documentation to get refunded. I bought a 2nd FOB last March and I will definitely get the cost of the FOB and the programming refunded.

Yes, it requires PAAK.

Hmm. I may have spoken too soon.
  • Ford Motor Company is offering a refund for owner-paid repairs covered by this program if the repair was performed before the date of the Owner Notification Letter. This refund offer expires on February 5, 2023. Refunds will only be provided to the owner plus applicable tax, in lieu of providing additional remote control and key blank.
It says nothing about who you purchased the fob from but since the dealership provided you with a new one, it would not be in lieu of providing another one. They have probably already claimed reimbursement for the new one they gave you.

Details are in the attached pdf:

I am a Job 1 Car. I was just on a 4 hour trip today on a major highway in PA Interstate 81 it said BC was available, but it never engaged in handsfree only hands on the wheel. When I would look away it would beep to say look forward, so the eye detectors worked but I was not able to take my hands off the wheel. Is there a way to update the Bluecruise it says handsfree expired 2 days ago despite not having it for a full year? I just got it in May or June of this year. It worked for a month or 2 now it wont go in handsfree mode.

I'm almost certain that's the American way of displaying October 9th. But even still that would be September 10th. And either way that's just when the maps "expire" not the feature
