I'm hoping to get the notification that the update is complete when I get to my car at the airport this afternoon. That would also be confirmation that the download did not require wi-fi, as my car has been in the airport garage since Monday morning. ? ?

I can confirm Wi-Fi is not required for 1.7.1 Power-Up. My car was not connected to my home Wi-Fi while most of this update was downloading.

Off topic (kinda) but who's job was it to check trial subscription eligibility? The VW GTI that I sold last month was 5 years old and the SXM trial never expired, and I was never charged. I sold that car with it still having SXM enabled and working perfectly when it was only supposed to be for 6 months.

Same thing with our old Lincoln-I think it went on for almost 3 yrs-and is probably still working for the new owner...but of course, the cars we decided to keep, the trials expire right on time.

No. I used to work for SXM and that was the UI edict going forward (about 4 years ago now).

My friend’s car (Audi I think) show what song is playing on all SXM channels before you decide to change the station...I wish my MME would show that. Is there a setting we need to choose? I guess the screen would need to be displayed differently instead of the grid display.

If it’s in a garage, it might not have satellite in order to receive? And won’t it go into deep sleep if you are gone for a week? (I live in a densely populated area and I don’t even get satellite in my house’s garage)

The update would be downloaded over cellular. It doesn't come from a satellite.

Many SXM radios would implement a "browse" display where you can see all the channels and what is playing on them. Not sure if the Mach-E has that or not.

It was typically a separate menu from simple tuning..

Great news because my car will be on the road for the next 10 days. No wifi to connect it to.
