Coulnd't agree more - i nearly spat out my water when someone confirmed you could get 2.1 AFTER 2.3, obviously no basic version control at Ford!
It is because the numbering is just off and they update different modules. I think those were mainly people that had issues getting 1.7.1 and then they got both updates dumped super close together. Now that they've hopefully ironed out OTAs, I would hope the version numbers will start to make sense.

It is extremely common for updates to be sent in batches, especially when a product is so brand new, you want to make sure you don't just brick all the cars from a bad update. So that is definitely not out of line.
Yeah but when you have some people on 2.1 getting 2.3, and then you still have people on 1.4 who cant even get 1.6. Surely you try to keep the number of versions in circulation to an absolute minimum to make problem solving simple and reducing compatibility issues.

Based on your location, I think you're bringing in regional issues that most people can't help out with. If you're in the US, you can go in for the Customer Satisfaction updates that will get you to 1.7.1 and do the updates to ensure future OTA's work properly.

Need some help. I am still on 1.4 and cannot get anyone at Ford to help me. I bought in October of 2021 and only had one power update. I am enrolled in the early access and still have not gotten any updates. Everytime I call they tell me there is no update for my vehicle. Dealership won't help either. Any advice?
Send me your VIN

I was stuck too.

I turned off WIFI. I turned off auto update. I scheduled for updates for the next day at a time I knew the car would have good cell service. The next day, FordPass said an update was pending.

I have no idea if any of what I did helped or not. Maybe it was just a lucky timing event.
Thanks. Kust want to make sure I understand, turn off wifi and auto update and set it for the next day out in the open?

I hope they will one day list out all updates on a website, like Apple does, but not a lot of companies do that. They did pick a tricky starting point since the Power-Ups don't actually correspond to what people think, which is why they were originally out of order. I am hopeful that when BlueCruise is finally out, everyone will be synced.

It is extremely common for updates to be sent in batches, especially when a product is so brand new, you want to make sure you don't just brick all the cars from a bad update. So that is definitely not out of line. Based off the speed people got 2.1.0 and 2.3.0, it seems like they are starting to nail down OTA and, from what insiders have said and even those that were themselves stuck, they may have finally figured out what was causing the issues with 1.7.1 and fixed them on 2.1.0 and 2.3.0.

To be frank, most users won't even know about any missed updates or anything, I'm sure most are just hungry for BlueCruise but aren't on forums actively seeking out what the latest software level is, what's coming, etc. They probably just want BlueCruise, but those that have actually paid for the service do have it.
I come from the industrial production space. Each and every customer who ever dealt with a Copy Exact company like Intel would never ever go without an audit trail. No one in pharma would ever go without an audit trail. I get batch release for large amounts of consumer goods. But alpha, beta, pre-release, release and first article inspection is how the big boys do it to keep multi billion dollars production lines going. That's how they do it to keep drug production from killing patients.

Why not learn from the best? Instead this is like Google using it's paying customers like beta testers or some fremium game firm that issues add supported solitaire.

That's what worked for me. Got me from 1.4 to 1.6. I'll let everyone know if it goes farther or not.

If you’ve been able to get at least one update you are usually good, they may have not pushed out the others to you yet. Took me a couple months to get 1.4 and then 1.6 after I got my car in September. Then a couple weeks later I got 1.7.1. My updates really started rolling once I was out driving more. Id suggest taking hour long trips every weekend in good cell coverage areas.
It's just odd that in the four months I have had it, no other updates have come out and they are on 2.1.0. I have put over 7k on it in four months. Drove from Colorado to Kansas. No joy

We're at the will of the OTA gods. You're probably pretty close to getting the latest soon. Try turning off WiFi like others have said, maybe that will help.

I brought mine in for the recall and did not get 1.7.1 still on 1.4. Does the dealership have the capacity to manual update? What CSP was it?

If your car is built before June you qualify for CSP 21P22

What is your Sync Version? Do you have Notes app?
No I have nothing cool. Sync version is 21008 - Revision 252 I think. When I go to the website it says up to date with this number SYNC4 v4.0.21008
