Outdated Software for Recall Repair

Curious to know if anyone else had this issue today. Was scheduled for a HVBJB repair and received a call 10 minutes before my appointment stating that they will not be able to do the work due to their “recall software” being out of date. Anyone else have this repair scheduled for today and had their appointment cancelled?

See this thread. Some of the modules which need to be reprogrammed with that recall have issues.

Currently, the issue has to be taken on a case by case basis. Ford Engineering needed to be brought in to verify whether the car’s software revision levels are sufficient to perform the repair. If they are, the repair can be performed and the software update portion of the repair procedure can be skipped. According to @Mach-Lee repairs of failed units will take precedence over recall repairs. ??

What a bummer. I’ve been waiting for more than a month to get this recall fix. Luckily my vehicle isn’t bricked….yet.

Note, case-by-case only applies if your vehicle is currently broken. Recall work is halted and will have to be rescheduled.

As long as you haven’t gotten the SVS or SSN you should be fine. Even with an SVS many people have driven hundreds of miles before getting their service. ??

I drive mine for 300+ miles after getting SVS alert (with software power limiting)... so, you should be fine holding off on the HVBJB until @Ford Motor Company has sorted out the software bugs in the latest round of module updates.

That’s good to know. I have not received the SVS alert. I’m not worried about it after everyone’s response.
