You totally can do this. Just worked for me.

Go Settings / Personal Profiles then select a profile and you'll see "Add phone". Tap that then you get the screen attached to authenticate the phone by pressing lock on the FP app. Once you do that you'll see that the phone is indeed associated with that profile.

Would be nice if the wording wasn't just "phone" but Phone As A Key so users could understand this option. Should also be included as a step when you set up PAAK....

Add the keyfob first (the one above it) and then make sure you have the keyfob with you and you've already setup PaaK, then you should be able to add the phone.

Thanks for the help.
I added my phone and then I added Paak. You are correct, I successfully linked it to my profile. Now to see if that consistently works.

One thing I find interesting that I cannot see in the car: How many PaaK are setup? I think my old phone Paak is still installed on the MME. any ideas on how to see how many Paak the car has installed?

The car and the phone are in sync so you should be able to see all the PaaK devices in your phone and remove old ones from there.

once again @DevSecOps you are right on the money.

I think the difference of what is in the car and what is in the app throws me off sometimes. Really appreciate the help. Fingers crossed I report back positive news in the upcoming days.

And this is why it would be nice to log into FordPass and see a list of all keys assigned to a vehicle, along with their corresponding device ?

I finished testing the valet mode and have issues. When in valet mode my vehicle is not automatically locking after I get out. The manual’s explanation sucks. It’s very cumbersome. After exiting the valet mode my FordPass app still has a banner telling me the number that was created though it’s no longer active. How do I clear that banner? The worst is that the glove box doesn’t lock. I will have to take the registration and identifying papers out of the car when I valet.

This is shown in FordPass. Vehicle > Features & Settings > Paak Key Settings.

(Paak Key Settings??? Doesn't seem like anyone peer reviewed that name.)

another work around is to put the FOB in a faraday bag and hide it in the car. When you want to allow a guest to drive the car give him the code to unlock the car and tell him where the FOB is hidden in the car when he is done he puts the FOB back in the farady bag and locks the car. If you dont want to give him the unlock code you can unblock it remotely so he can get the FOB.

I valet fairly regularly (that makes me sound fancy - I am not LOL. But most hospitals here have free valet and I have a chronic condition) and I can’t imagine passing on that level of detailed instruction to the valet workers with any confidence. They’re often super busy.

Hey there! Ford's Phone As A Keyā„¢ (PAAK) is an intuitive technology that allows you to access and drive your vehicle without the need for a physical key. We want you to take advantage of this feature, so if you are needing additional support with PAAK take a look at these links below for some helpful tips and troubleshooting steps:

General Troubleshooting: https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...roubleshooting-tips-for-using-phone-as-a-key/

If you cannot unlock … https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...cannot-unlock-my-vehicle-with-phone-as-a-key/

I like the new Ford message. Hey There! Ford's PAAK SUCKS, so we've decided to give everyone whose car is manufactured after July 10 TWO KEYS!

Stay with me now, IT'S INNOVATIVE! You can control your car with two tiny FOBs! Give one to a friend, Give one to a loved one! LET THE DEALERSHIP KEEP ONE WHILE THEY WORK ON YOUR CAR!

Oh, and the 13,000 people with only 1 key? F them... (Ford them of course)

Want to sell your car? Only one key? Where's the other one pal? What do you mean you didn't get one? EVERYONE ON THE PLANET GETS TWO KEYS WITH THEIR CAR!

You best be taking $500 of your selling price...

I had my dealer provide me a letter confirming that my MME only came with 1 key. My car went into production on 06/28 and finished on 07/16. I tried to get a 2nd keyfob based on the 07/06 cutoff but Ford said no. I settled for the letter.

that was more for the example of the guy who wanted to give his friend access to his car but not have him with on-going access with a full app. In your case you likely hand the FOB over to the valet.

That was me and I agree that Valet Mode is not ideal for valets, my original point was that I’d like to be able to authorize and deauthorize users of my car. Sort of like I can do with HomeKit. Ford has said their infrastructure does not support that. I’m not sure, but I believe Apple CarKey does support that functionality perhaps ford should look at just implementing Apple CarKey (it’s based on an open standard so those people rocking Windows Phone or other obscure mobile OSes can play too ?)
