Mach-GT performance 255 driving range worked for 5 charges and now charges 100% to 216 miles on the 7th charge - 45 days I’ve had the car.

I’ve read technical articles range should decrease 2% a year. Note, have also read the newbie bashing about cold weather reduces ford Mach-e performance but do not see these comments with Tesla forums. I live in Houston and actually coldest had been 48 deg but actually was 73 deg when lost my range.

Why does Ford get a pass? I’ve called ford and they state, “That’s to be expected.” Actually, no.
if I try and sell my car now will need to identify range only 216- loss of value! Tesla cars second hand a few years old still have their range.

I’ve gone to my dealer and the state they don’t know much about “these new EVs!”

Any technical comments based on technical knowledge would be appreciated.
thanks

Teslas have the same reduction in range during the winter. But they just show the rated range on the dash instead of trying to estimate actual range. They do this because people like seeing a larger range number, even if it’s not based on reality. Clearly they’re right about that.

Cold ?

Search "cold weather EV range".. enough said.

While your at it, maybe take a drive to see what you get in the real world before complaining about what has been "taken from you" because you saw a number displayed on screen, which is just a GUESS...

Look at your power consumption and how many miles/kwh you are getting. Could be you are driving super aggressively or high speed on highway leading to poor estimated range. Multiply the xx mi/kwh by 91 and thats your true range. Can look at where all the power has gone there as well

You can always reset your EV driving history on the car. Then the GOM just works off of current ambient temperature to estimate range immediately after reset. The GOM is designed to not strand you if you pay attention to it, that’s all, and it’s extremely conservative.

Isn't it much easier to look at the consumption figures the car is telling you rather than writing a long rant on a forum?

IT'S THE COLD, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR BATTERY.

Displayed range will decrease dramatically as the air temps dip below 55ºF. This reflects physical realities such as increased air density, drag, heat use, and reduced battery capacity in the cold which reduces range. This cold range decrease affects all cars somewhat equally, including Teslas.

You must test the range in 77ºF weather to compare to the EPA mileage.

Yes those range estimates are not battery degradation, and even with Tesla you may lose 10% over time. And cold weather, as it gets colder and you’re using heat, really can lower range drastically. Driving style is a huge factor. Ford actually is doing really well with accurate estimates that you can achieve, when I drive the Tesla… I’m not getting that ‘rated range’! That being said, newer Teslas have a heat pump that helps tremendously that the Mach-e didn’t get, that my older Model S also does not have! Heater’s better in the Mach-e! (Use heated seats and steering wheel only to save power)

Interesting how whether a forum talks about winter range loss or not is somehow more relevant than actual facts.

And, then you conclude that the range loss is permanent.

Try reading less social media.

I understand that you are upset that your new car is broken. You are jumping to a false conclusion based on a tiny amount of information. Your car is fine; what is broken is the dealership that doesn't bother to learn anything about EVs.

As for Tesla: they lie to their customers who then end up trusting that incorrect range and can end up stranded because there wasn't a charging stop close enough. So, the real question is why TESLA "gets a pass".

Interesting to see the different ways people like to dress “why is my range dropping?” threads. Even after using the search button, a new thread is warranted because this couldn’t possibly be happening to “their” car.
