Persistent "Setup Phone as Key" Message in FordPass

I've been following this forum and watching all the Mach-E YouTube videos I could find for months, but I just picked up my Mach-E on Saturday and I have a few questions about FordPass. I've searched the forum, but did not find answers to these.

First question: although I successfully setup Phone as a Key, FordPass prominently displays a "Setup Phone as a Key" link, which would suggest that it thinks I really ought to do that… despite the fact that it is already a fait accompli. (See image below)

Second question: When I see screen grabs from others, there are typically more icons for remote options than I have. I get a big row of Unlock, Start, and Lock, and then a tiny second row exclusively consisting of "Horn & Lights". I've seen other folks with "Windows Up", "Windows Down", "Trunk" and sometimes even "Frunk". (Again, see image below)

I checked to see if there were any remote options that were disabled within the car's Sync console, but didn't see anything that looked applicable.

FWIW, I have the latest version of FordPass for iOS, the latest version of iOS, and the latest version of the iPhone…

The app doesn’t think you have PaaK setup. Try resetting PaaK from the car and setting it up again. The other buttons in the bottom row will show up after PaaK is fixed.

The app doesn’t think you have PaaK setup. Try resetting PaaK from the car and setting it up again. The other buttons in the bottom row will show up after PaaK is fixed.
I did that. Reset PAAK. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Setup PAAK again. Got messages to the effect that I setup PAAK. Which even works, mostly.

It's still displaying "Setup Phone as a Key". Very frustrating, because I followed all the steps outlined in this post to re-start from scratch, twice. Same issue.

It's weird because PAAK is actually working for me. Everything from proximity 'greeting' to unlocking the door… and then finally locking the car when I walk away. So the car thinks I have PAAK set up. And some piece of FordPass must, as well.

I guess if I have to choose, I'd rather have PAAK working than having those extra icons and have PAAK fail.

Still, as a software developer, I can't help but think that if there's one noticeable issue, there are others underneath that might not be as apparent. And if there are, I'd rather it be with the app than the car, but… who knows?

When you go into Features & Settings on the Vehicle Screen, then click on PaaK Key Settings, does the device list only have 1 item, and that item is your phone?

Yes. I apparently have Schrödinger's PAAK: it simultaneously exists and does not exist.

I'm not sure what you mean by "including Sync".

I did follow the instructions in the link I posted earlier today, which including deleting all Bluetooth connections on both ends (also disabling CarPlay, of course), and I did a FordPass Connect Reset. I went thought that process twice. I even waited overnight before trying to setup PAAK again, in case there was some kind of cleanup tasks that the car might perform.

FWIW, I have exactly the same symptoms. Nothing has fixed it. On one day in December I deleted and created so many PaaKs that Ford’s servers banned me for a while. I have even gone as far as disconnecting the 12V battery for > 10 minutes on several occasions. FordPass support has so far been useless and even stranded me once at the office because the guy on the phone insisted that I delete my PaaK even though I told him multiple times that I did not have my physical key. My case has been “escalated” so we will see what happens for me. I haven’t heard back since they escalated before Christmas (wow, 3 weeks ago). ?‍♂??

I should note that PaaK is working great for me to get into the car and to start it. ??

My GT-PE’s production week was 10/4/21 after being postponed twice. It was completed 10/9/21 and shipped on 10/14/21. I picked it up from my dealer on 11/19/21. Delivery window was 11/23-11/29/21 so it arrived early. ??‍♂?

I would suggest opening up a ticket with FordPass support. The more people who report this issue, the more data they have. That might help them to figure out the issue. Or it might just lead to your being frustrated. ???
