This dealer does not accept xplan. As stated earlier dealers are not required to accept xplan.

The adm was known to you when you actually placed the order. Before hitting the order button you had an opportunity to transfer your reservation to a non adm dealer and perhaps one that accepts xplan. That would’ve taken about 5 days. What you’re trying to do now is change the terms of the agreement you made with the dealer. Unfortunately, they’re not obligated to agree to change the terms.

So your choices are to pay the contracted for price and go home with the car you ordered and never do business with that dealer or anyone like them again. Or you can walk away if they don’t agree to sell at MSRP. If you choose the latter, you can reorder another Mach-e at a dealer that sells the car at MSRP or accepts XPlan. Or you can buy something else.

The only argument you might have versus this dealer is if, and only if, they actually accept xplan on other cars but not the Mach-e. That seems unlikely though.
I actually called to change the dealer and Ford would not allow me to change. Ford sent me the reservation confirmation email and required payment the next day.
This dealer does honor x-plan on other purchases. When I couldn’t return calls from the dealer, I went there. And I advised that I wanted to use the x-plan and was told it wouldn’t be an issue. Of course, that salesperson is no longer there.

I didn't buy my First Edition from the dealer I ordered it through, but the dealer I did buy from had a cancellation with no ADM. I asked them if they'd accept X-Plan since they advertised that they accepted A-Plan on their website, and they said 'no' because the Mach-E 'wasn't eligible'. I clearly caught the GM in a lie and showed the finance manager that the statement was factually incorrect on fordpartner.com. I figured I'd try to get it, and if they wouldn't do it, I'm not paying more than what it was worth.

I still went through with the deal because I got out of having to get bodywork done to remove the front license plate bracket holes on the car that I would be getting in Illinois. If they would have done an ADM, I wouldn't have pursued the car at all.

Moral of the story is shop around for cancellations with no ADM and ask for X-Plan acceptance upfront if you find one. Best of luck!

I am sorry to say this, but I agree with others that at this point there is not much you can do except cutting the loss and moving on. Based on your posts from last summer, it was already clear back then this dealer was non-communicative and would be a pain to work with, any verbal agreements you thought you had with them would be useless.

I just started the process of placing an order in the last couple of days, and in my communication with dealers in my area I always asked up front if they would accept X-Plan and whether the $500 deposit would be fully refundable. Every one of them confirmed by email that they would accept X-Plan for this purchase, the dealer closest to my home (10 minutes) said the deposit would be non-refundable and then made up some BS on why (each dealer sets its own refund policy on deposit which I can respect, the latter part is what set off alarm bells in my mind), while another dealer ~25 minutes away wrote back that the deposit would be fully refundable.

Sorry for your luck.

One thing I'd like to point out is that their comment about losing money, I believe is factually incorrect. When purchased with x-plan, my understanding is, that Ford reimburses the dealer for the cost.

Now they may argue that if not for the x-plan they could get the extra $2000. But that ignores the fact that if not for your order, they would have no vehicle to sell at any price.

Since you reserved through the dealer before they announced any ADM, they had knowledge of the potential sale and could set whatever price on you without the ability for you to negotiate. You, however, had no prior knowledge about ADM and therefore had to enter into a contact with unequal bargaining power.

Ultimately, this probably won't help you get the vehicle for the price you want, but it could potentially be useful if you seek to recuperate any deposit you paid (assuming they won't return it and you have the determination to pursue it).

One option I'd recommend would be to file a complaint with the better business bureau. Nothing can be forced through the BBB, but most companies want to avoid negative marks for not responding to BBB complaints.

Wow. I haven’t been able to phrase it like this. This is exactly what happened. Thank you so much. My impression was that this would be a transparent process. But, then I found myself stuck. The x-plan was an attempt to protect myself from these shenanigans, but the dealer is really pushing to charge the max. They know that if I don’t take it, they can turn around and sell it for more. This is the first car delivered in Florida and it is beautiful. Little guy loses out....

I'm hoping you've answered the questions from @trutolife27 he can help you better than anyone else in this post.
I se
ok lets start from the start.

1 did you place the order online with ford or at the dealer?
2 what paperwork did you sign if any and can i see it pls?
3. what is the total price the mache was offered to you for?
sorry, I answered earlier but it didn’t post correctly

here is my order.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Pines Ford refusing to honor X-plan 1613228387863

I ordered directly on the Ford website. There was no interaction with the dealer until the $1,000 was due. That was a call to the dealer. At that point I asked about switching because I saw the ADM. I was told no, and the email from Ford gave me less than 24 hours to place the deposit. I tried Calling ford and could not reach a person.

Except for a credit application, I have not signed anything.

as to the last question, I included the only price breakdown I received. Which is from my online Ford account.

Thank you for pointing that out. I replied, but I screwed something up when I was posting the picture of my order. I think I’ve fixed it now.

why is there a mark up of 2,000. did you agree to that and sign that its ok?
Like someone pointed out below, the ADM was added after the order was placed online and disclosed at the time of calling the dealer to confirm and place the $1,000 deposit. At the time of the reservation, I had no idea about this issue. I came to this forum and found more I formation and a lot of great advice.
Also, this dealer generally accepts x-plan for other cars. But not the first delivered Mach-e in grabber blue.

Agreed - your best recourse at this point is to walk away from them and either find a cancellation elsewhere (although that may be marked up also), or place a new order with a better dealer. You can have 2 orders, so just order with a dealer that takes x-plan with no markup and if you can't get your deposit back, you're still ahead of the game.

Would try to speak with senior management at Ford and try them to resolve this matter. It’s not fair for us customers having waited more than a year, so through waves of emotions and than allow a greedy dealer ruin the experience.

The senior manager, Clark, is the one who sat me down and reprimanded me for presenting the x-plan. His position is that I went against an “agreement” with the dealership. This issue is coming from the top.

Most dealers forget that their business can’t thrive with unhappy customers. Would make a video of this, make it viral for the dealership.
