It has to be set up first, in Connected Service. Plug&Charge has to be toggled on, and you have to have a credit card registered in your Ford Wallet. Sometimes takes a little time for that to all go through and be ready for a charge at a station, but you only have to set it up once.
I’ve had it set up for 3 years. I confirmed it was all still good beforehand.

Others have reported that P&C on EA has stopped working for them when they got the update that enabled it on Tesla. Maybe I’ve been bit by the same bug.

Nope. Be nice if it did, but when you really think about it, it makes sense. Any discount plan is only going to apply to the account being used to pay for the charge.
All it would require is communication of a VIN between accounts. Of course, that might slow down P&C just enough that it times out. Overall, it doesn't really matter to me: it's just about as fast to swipe to pay as I'm getting out of the car.

Has anyone used P&C in both Canada *and* the US?

I was at an EA in Buffalo and P&C would not activate...I have a feeling it's because my phone was in Airplane Mode as I don't roam when I'm briefly in the US. My EA card would also not work when I tried to tap it from Apple Wallet. Again, should not rely on any network communication unless it (likely) "phones home" first to check my balance.

Either that or it only works for me in Canada. It's not a big issue, just curious why it didn't work.

P&C doesn't use your phone at all, so that wouldn't be it. That's actually one of the advantages of P&C.

Phone tap should have worked though. Sounds like maybe that charger was acting up.

That's what I figured - thanks for the confirmation.

Could be if it was after you got the Supercharger Powerup. Something about that update getting the EA certificate mixed up.

I do a lot of road tripping and I usually don't use P&C with EA because they haven't connected my VIN to my EA account to the price is higher for P&C sessions. My partner always uses P&C, so we often have a mix of costs during the road trips we do together.
Best of both worlds is EVgo where autocharge+ works like a charm by providing the convenience of P&C as well as the lower membership rate.

Yeah I wish EA would implement their own system like that.
I mean take it one step further: Ford Blue Oval charging $15/ month to offer discounted rates and P&C on top five national networks. It’s not rocket science and a huge benefit to all involved.

And if we’re really brave: Sirius + BC1.4 + the above for $50/ month (like Tesla, but better).

The A2Z one?...

Appreciate the Twitter post.

I ordered both Lectron and A2Z.

Haven't heard any updates from Lectron.

A2Z so far sounds promising.

It'll be a race - will see which one arrives first.

Last one gets returned.

The idea I've been floating as a "wishlist" for BOCN would be a very simple-to-implement discount plan in the form of a monthly rebate/credit to our accounts. Instead of what's surely a far more complicated task of trying to change the price at the charger, simply let us pay the normal rates when paying via our BOCN accounts. But offer a discount plan ($7.99/mo or so like EA) that would simply issue a 25% credit back to our accounts at the end of each month for the total of that month's charges, regardless of which networks they were on. Easy-peasy.

I mostly charge at home and rarely drive far, but I went to an Electrify America station today, plugged in and walked away. Came back to >80% 45 minutes later. Not sure how many other cars do plug and charge now outside of Tesla, but this is an amazing feature we’ve had since day one and I just think it’s great

Plug and charge have always worked for us but last night and this afternoon in San Diego it wouldn’t work and we had to pay. Plug and charge was activated in my Fordpass. Is there anyone at Ford or Electrify America to contact to get my money back and fix this issue? I still hav 299 kw left from Ford.
