For peace of mine. Two ways of securing something is better than one.

If the bolt backs out from vibration, you don’t have an aluminum puck flyout from your vehicle on the highway.

the tape itself is technically strong enough to hold the pucks itself under ideal circumstances, since it’s meant for automotive moulding.
Belts and suspenders, got it. Good idea.

I would be concerned about the metal backing floating around inside the channel. Probably no way to get it out if the screw came loose

edit.

I might add the 3m take to the metal backing so it doesn’t float amount if screw comes out

I forgot to write that I did use blue loctite on the one bolt for each of them. I've had them on almost a month - drove at least 1000km and checked them with an allen key. No issues, nothing has loosened.

The key is to clean the surface properly before attaching the 3M tape as well.
For a potential solution for not losing the block in the frame: I'd be interested to see if you could "lock in" one bolt to the block, by threading the assembly in so that a few threads are exposed on the back end, then adding a dab of metal to the threads (welded on or JB Weld). The premise is you could lose one bolt, but there would be the other bolt to always remain and never be able to fully back out.

Not sure you can get the “back block” in the hole if both screws are attached in any form if that is what you mean

Yea it won't fit with both bolts. The 3M tape is the secondary measure to ensure it's not just depending on the 1 bolt. Also just period checking to see they are still tight.

IF the block does come loose, sure it'll slide around and rattle but the frame rail has other holes - I'm sure eventually it would fall out on its own. If it really annoys you, stick a long stick down it and knock it around until you can get it out. I sprayed it with cavity wax for rust prevention prior to install and the whole channel is connected. Not too concerned.

Also adding 3 m tape to the back block should help prevent the rolling around if it does come loose

I actually just installed aluminum jack pads meant for a corvette that I saw another member post. The blue matches my MME ?

Wasn't a fan of modifying the rubber Tesla jack pads (cutting it) and leaving them hanging in there with friction alone.

Only used 1 bolt instead of 2, so I could center the puck better. But used 3M automotive trim tape on the puck as well.

I like these. Do you have the link for ordering them?

Just in case this hasn't been suggested already, I also vote for some visual mark to draw the eye. A dab of yellow? On the circumference? ...to draw the attention of the hurried worker who might have to deal with this in the dark, in the rain when is cold (worst case scenario).

I put thin yellow reflective tape on my Tesla pucks but, unlike the pucks themselves, the tape had not stuck well enough to last.

Different numbers and designs here.

The bottle jack w/ stand you linked cannot accommodate anything lower than 11".

The Rennstand comes apart, so the minimum height accommodated is the top of the Rennstand, plus your minimum floor jack height. In order for the Rennstand to become assembled after jacking, you need to have it at least 11.5" off the ground.
...and bottle jacks do fail, not every day but enough so it's well known amongst mechanics and hobbyists. it only takes once...

You can just search "corvette jack pucks aluminum" on amazon - there will be a few choices. They're all the same (as long as it is the 2 bolt design, instead of the solid T shape).

Pick a colour, any colour! (As long as it's black, red, blue, or silver)

I picked black and should have picked blue so they stand out

Edit:

returning the black ones I was about to install and ordering the blue one

Not both bolts, only one bolt. One bolt with a thread taper/lock should be enough to keep the assembly from become a lost unit on the road, and more importantly keeps the block from getting lost in the frame. This would make it a 2-part assembly: the block/secured-bolt/puck as assy1, and the second bolt as assy2.

I just installed, didn’t take long, I got nervous when I was trying to tighten it and it just kept spinning but was finally able to get it to grip.

hope they never have to come off. The backing will just keep sliding around in the tube and be annoying.

They're not a perfect match with Grabber Blue but they do nicely. I used Gorilla Tape in addition to the single screw and backing plate.

Curious why the 3m tape would make any difference if using loctite

Is the addition pressure when tightening from the 3m whats helps
Two different metals (aluminum and steel) also offers the opportunity for galvanic corrosion if the car is exposed to salt spray. The aluminum could act as an anode, similar to how sacrificial zincs are used on ships to keep the hulls from corroding. If the two metals are not in contact, this won't happen. Using a sheet of rubber, or Delrin, or the 3M tape between the steel and aluminum would mitigate this scenario.
