A couple of questions. Among EA folks, does this update only go out to Job1 cars? Mine is Job2, but the lurch upon braking is exceedingly annoying. The only OTA I have received so far is the BC map update last week. Second, will this fix work in 1-PD mode as well?
Speculation, but I’d suspect that once Job 1 cars have BlueCruise available, the Job 2 cars will start seeing more OTAs. There’s no reason to withhold such things for long.

This is interesting. I had 2.4.2 since February 12 and earlier! It was via FDRS rather than OTA.
One change in 2.4.2 is the faster DC Fast Charging above 80%.

SOBDM LJ98-14F476-AS November
SOBDM LJ98-14F477-AS November
BECM NJ98-14C197-BB November
SOBDMC LJ98-14G069-BDF February
PCM MJ98-14C204-BDH February
ABS LK9C-2D053-CD November
ABS LK9C-14C602-DH November

There was also a BlueCruise related update for the GWM/ECG, maybe an upcoming OTA?
GWM/ECG LJ8T-14H021-EKK February
So if someone goes in for CSP 21P22 right now they would in theory get the 2.4.2 update. I got half of mine done in early January, the rest in early February. By the time I came back there was another round of PCM updates available.

With updates now going out for the power train and other critical functions to driving is anyone else considering switching to backing their car into their driveway or garage?

The line in the early access email that concerned me was “In the rare case that a critical system software configuration is not correct after the update has occurred, out of an abundance of caution, we will not let the vehicle operate.”

Maybe I’m just paranoid, but if an update fails and the car is un-drivable, how would a tow company pull it out of your garage when the only tow points are in the front.
Most tow trucks have the hydraulic wheel caddies. They can get it out pretty easy.

Ok, so based on that quote, they aren’t even rolling out 2.4.2 to everyone in EA, just a “select group within EAP”. So, the rest of us are standing outside the club, waiting and hoping the bouncer will open the velvet rope and let us in? Or are we in the club and trying to get into the VIP? I’m so confused ???
Sounds like that to me. Pick a few people in Early Access who are willing to experience a few (hopefully minor) glitches.

Thank you and a shout out to those of you who are willing to take one for the team. We all are counting on you.

Wait, what? Is this even faster than the CSP 21P22 that came out late last year?

The one thing I noticed in 2.4.2 is that they rearranged the drive modes. It now goes Whisper, Engage, Unbridled. It used to be Engage, Whisper, Unbridled on my car.
Mine has always been like that, July 3 build (Job 1.5)

That actually gives me pause to think about the ramifications of this Greg. Even with hydraulic wheel caddies any tow truck is almost guaranteed to have to pull mine out of the garage from a 90 degree angle. There’s enough room for me to back out and get turned around and that’s pretty much it.

And it is quite possible to pull the car out of the garage using the front tow points even with the car parked nose in first.

Do you have a recovery kit for your Wrangler? Are you familiar with 90 degree winch recovery? A sturdy tree is best but your Jeep could work just as well if there's a way to secure it so the tow truck doesn't drag it around.
Unless of course your Jeep has its own winch....

Huh? How would you pull a car out of a garage using the “front tow points” if it’s parked nose-in? I’m not sure how your house is built, but a tow truck would have to drive through my living room, knock out my mud room and powder room, and knock out the staircases going to my second floor and my basement. I think it would be easier for Ford to just find some “magic way” to get the car “into neutral” so it could be moved out of the garage and onto my driveway.

All hypothetical of course, as I do not expect to be involved in EA BlueCruise as there are no BlueCruise roads here. That should reduce the odds of a very errant update from bricking the car.

The Wrangler is just finishing its full restoration. We did have a winch put on it. I’m used to the Jeep being unavailable so I didn’t consider it. So that should work. There’s enough room in front of that spot to pull it straight back from the Jeep. A tow truck could deal with it from there. Thanks

So here’s a picture of the appropriate screen. Taken about 3 minutes ago. My car has successfully installed all the OTAs through 2.4.1 plus the 3 stealth OTAs checking up whatever it was they were checking up on.

Here’s my screen and I’m on 2.4.1 and a failed mystery:
