My guess is either powertrain or IPC. Then the sixth update will probably the the actual BlueCruise 1.3 camera/steering/radar update that will be the big one.
Blue cruise 1.3 has been out for more than a month for sure. I bought my 2023 a month ago and it was already installed.

Yes it is out for 2023 Job 2 cars, but they had it installed at the factory. All other cars are waiting on the OTA update. You will find that updates take several more months to catch up. Just wait until you need the BlueCruise 1.4 update.

Haha, oh wonderful…. Thanks for the info. Hopefully they get a little faster at delivery.

How is it? I guess you have nothing to compare it tho.

You are correct, I have nothing to compare it too. Seems like what I’ve read, my thoughts and experience coincide with 1.2. So not sure what the difference is. I will say Bluecruise is pretty cool. I live in San Diego California and it works quite well. I hope someone posts what the update 1.3 actually did……

I don’t think ford bothers anymore with the release notes. They just randomly choose a previous update and recycle the same notes in the new update.

Also I’m surprised the EA police haven’t arrived to the scene yet.
If Jim's cousin Chris Farley was still with us the Release Notes could have been a lot funnier!!!

Anyone think the update process will markedly improve in the next gen Mach-E? It's kind of nuts how many updates it takes to go to BC 1.3. I realize there are valid technical reasons for them doing it this way under the current architecture, but certainly the next vehicle could be architected to download bigger patches that update multiple modules at once, etc.

I do remember seeing an interview with the Ford CEO where he says they outsourced too much stuff and that's part of the software use update complexity that they are now dealing with, so I do hope this will improve significantly.
Markedly improve? No.

Gradually, probably. Hopefully with a moderate-ish jump in the next generation, but I wouldn't hold me breath.

While there are certainly some hardware and 3rd party issues, I think the real issue is with their approach to software development and testing. It's hard to shift to an agile, rapid release development system when you've been entrenched in a system that only had one shot to get the software right for a model year or longer. It's even harder when your software has safety of life implications and is federally regulated on a dozen levels.

Oh I've done that a few times, LOTS of updates available, according to them, but when Ford service hooked the vehicle up to the FDRS physically, they told me everything was up to date.
Also, usually the people who run VINs are kind enough to provide screenshots from FDRS. You can bring a redacted screenshot with you and challenge the dealer. Tell them you’d like them to call the Ford Support Line (I don’t know what it’s called) if they’re not seeing the updates. My favorite line (generically) when someone tells me “it’s not showing up in the computer” is to reply with “well, your computer is broken.”

I did that too, showed him the list, he gave me a screenshot of the bottom section of the same page, with the same updates available, showing me everything said it was up to date.

That’s contradictory. You said he gave you a screenshot showing the same updates available AND it said everything was up to date?

Yep, we've already established he didn't know what he was talking about. I'm going to try a different dealership this week to see if I can find someone that knows how to read FDRS ?

Hopefully "Intelligent" range prediction is actually good this time around? So far (6.1.0) it has been terrible and I never use Ford's navigation because it kills my range (I know its a guess o meter).

You do realize that the use of the navigation doesn't change your range, right? It only gives you a lower estimate (guess).
