Anyone else really disappointed in the Pre-Collision Alert system? The only time mine seems to go off is when someone turns to the right in front of me and their car is clearly gone and out of my lane.

However when I'm not paying great attention and driving without active drive assist and traffic is stopped in front of me and I haven't started to brake yet it doesn't make s noise.

Also didn't go off when someone nearly had a head on collision with me coming from opposite directions in the median (they went across traffic without signaling) the system didn't do anything. Does it only come on when the active drive (cruise control) assist system is on?

It definitely needs tuning. I had a Tesla try to push me off the shoulder of the road today when they changed lanes into my lane and didn't notice or care that I was already in that space. The collision alert never went off. We were inches from touching.

Mine went off today when cars stopped in traffic due to a backed up turn lane. It was appropriate and quite helpful. This is the first time it’s gone off appropriately.
all other times are someone turning right and im going to pass them or time it more closely than the system would like me to.

That seems to be a problem common to many manufacturers.

It’s been pretty good so far, alerting me when a car has slowed in front of me on the freeway but I’ve begun to look into the lane next to me to make sure it’s clear to change lanes. It seems a tad more aggressive than my Forester (which does a good job), and much better than the Bolt, which was not very useful.

I have mine set to low and it seems rather sensitive. I would be happy to see some tweaking. Out of the 10-12 times it’s gone off only 1 was legitimately worth a warning.

Mine works great at.. false positives. I think I have to tune mine like the poster above, because right now it'll alert when I'm literally making a turn.

Similar experiences here, though haven't really had any instances other than coming up on a car that was turning in front of me. Active drive assist does not need to be on.
