It doesn’t seem to be tied to a location.

I don’t know why charge limit is tied to a location. Stupid if you ask me.
Mine may be a rare cicumstance, but my work has free chargers, so I naturally set a high charge limit when at that location and a lower limit at home.

I would imagine most people setting the charge level to the 90% rule of thumb for battery health reasons, and overriding it occasionally if they need a full charge.

I agree. Ford could remove the whole "location based charging" thing entirely. K.I.S.S. is always better.

I’m on 6.2.1 as of today. I’ve had 6.2 for over a month.
6.1 and twofer 2 now. The second I did not get a no response from FP it just donuted for awhile, then went and worked. Amazing! Third time tomorrow as temps are starting to get there. Different times different days with one departure setting on the fly. I have been clearing it in the car after departure and sending the next clean through FP. Come on Karma you can do it. ;)

I did some experiments using some of the suggestions posted here. Scheduled cabin conditioning works as expected, every time, when the car is plugged-in. It never works when the car is un-plugged.

My only conclusions so far are that it's related to my Power Up being only 6.1 or my car being only a Select trim. Those seem to be the differences from people who are able to get this feature to work.

It works for me. I have a morning departure time each weekday when the car is unplugged. I also have an evening time set for twice a week, while plugged in.
Is it conditioning the interior or the battery?

It should be doing both. One is obvious to determine. The other only through diagnostic tools.
It only does the batteries when pugged into L2 it is basically pushing the remote start button if it is not. Both are obvious and no diagnostic tools are required. You can hear the recirc pump running (drawing L2 power and a hum) when the batteries are being preconditioned and the heated cabin with the heated seat/wheel is a give away it did the cabin.

When are you expecting the car to start warming up when not plugged in? From what I have read on this thread I would assume 15 minutes prior to departure. Also can you auto start your car? Just asking that as some have suggested that is essentially what FP is doing when not plugged in.

In departure schedule it will run battery precondition for 30 to 90 minutes (variable) depending on outside temp but has always used only the last 15 minutes for the cabin. For just the cabin you need to hit remote start which does 15 minutes cabin heat only and then hit extend up top of the app if you live in Alaska. ;)

Just so you know, a pump also runs for heating the cabin. So, no, you cannot determine what the car is doing by listening to pump sounds.

I am not having any issues myself plus I have a heated garage! Just learning about departure times and how they work. Mostly the OP’s issue with the car not heating up when a departure time is set and unplugged. Personally I always autostart - even in the garage.

I'm expecting the car to figure that out. If I want the cabin to be "warm" at 5:00 pm, I expect the car to figure out how to make that happen. This is what it does when plugged-in. Lately about 20 minutes prior to the scheduled time.

If it's not doing any heating with 5 minutes left to departure time, it's not working.
