I mean... I may be missing something here but I'd wager that a vast majority of vehicles on the road today don't even have the option for auto folding mirrors.

In any case, I still think it's a worth it trade off rather than delay the updates further than they've already been delayed
I live in miami you live in utah!! Lots of cars have folding mirrors here. I just don’t want ford to break things that worked before in a rush to get out code.
You have to test it before releasing code. hybrd4bev said it best

Ford-
Thanks for the post. However those steps haven't worked for me. I've taken the extra step (knowing it wouldn't matter) of turning off the auto-fold setting, turning the car off and waiting. Later I went back out and reactivated auto-fold. Still nothing.

I'm looking forward to BC 1.3, but there have been issues following OTAs that have changed driver, charging, and now mirror settings. That's quite a list.

Mine now don’t always unfold when unlocking! Toggled the settings a few times and still no dice. Have to manually hit the button to unfold when it happens. Might be related to remote start as that’s when I notice the issue the most.

I did use remote start yesterday when the mirrors wouldn’t fold in after resetting it properly the day before. I hope ford is listening you may have helped debug this.
BC 1.3. That make me laugh!!

Curious since you mentioned remote start (which tends to set the car to the 'guest' profile). Does your "guest" profile also have the mirror folding setting toggled correctly?

Small bug but if you live in a big city those open mirrors are an invitation for theft or kids rifling through your car as it appears it may be unlocked if mirrors are open
That's the #1 benefit for me of the folding mirrors... confirmation that the doors locked. The horn beep is way too loud and obnoxious so I keep that turned off, and Ford isn't giving us a gentle chirp option (grrr). I also don't like autolock because it doesn't happen until I've gotten quite a ways from the car and takes a full head turn to watch for. So very glad the mirrors act as a clear and easy lock confirmation.

....oooooohhhhhh.
whatever.

I would be in favor of MUCH LESS tech in a base model for lower cost, fun to drive, decent performance EV for the 'common folk'.

i.e. no power-auto-anything, except the MOTOR..... ;)
How do you plan on opening the doors?

mechanical latches and locks would be fine, especially if it reduced cost... even rollup crank windows are fine.

I am mostly talking about all the sensors and cameras that add cost to build, and add cost to repair even a minor fender bender

My mirrors have always folded regardless of the autofold setting.

Why did you even buy a Mach-E???? Could have saved a few bucks and bought yourself an old base model fox body or something

I bought the MME because:
200kW peak output
AWD
200+ mile range

I don't really care about (and don't want to pay for) 'comfort package' stuff, power seats, folding mirrors, blue cruise, or any 'driver assist' features other than traction control and the backup camera. I'd love it if a 'stripped' version was available at lower cost.

Small bug, but annoying. The option has to be re-set for every driver in the profile. Because of it, I was not sure if the car is locked. There is no way to determine it without mirrors being folded as the only indication. Can’t just pull on the door handle to double check…

Hi Owners – We wanted to let you know that if your side door mirrors aren’t closing when you go to lock your car, here is a helpful tip:
  1. Go to your SYNC screen
  2. Navigate to Settings
  3. Select Vehicle
  4. Go to Mirrors
  5. You'll find an Auto-Fold toggle option – make sure it is toggled to ON
Once you toggle the option ON that should help get those mirrors closed once your car is locked. Remember, always double-check your settings if you encounter any problems to ensure they align with your preferences.

If you have any questions, please contact the Ford Customer Service Center at (800) 392-3673.
Do you have a helpful tip that will let the car know it is me, instead of my wife, so that when I get in the settings haven't changed and I slam my knees into the steering wheel?
