I paid for a lifetime ceramic coating from Ceramic Pros. Yeah, pricey and a real man would DIY, but I did install the new circuit for my charger, so I am secure in my manliness. I hate waxing cars.
I went with the “lifetime” coating which needs a $150 annual full detailing to maintain.
Anyway, it is awesome. I live in farm country and there is significantly less dust/dirt on the car, and fewer bugs. I don’t understand it fully but I like it.

I have had ceramic coatings previously, but they always need to be redone. This time I went with Modesta, and it is great so far!

3 years with Ceramic Pro on my car. It’s been great and was well worth the price.

‘16 Focus RS, ‘20 GT500, ‘21 Mach-E Premium, ‘21 Mach-E GTPE all have Ceramic Pro Lifetime. Never have to wax. Cleans up easily. All look great (Super Shiny). I’m sure any high quality ceramic product would be the same. I’ll never do without a ceramic protection on my cars again. ?

Just curious, how much did the professional detailer/installer charge for this ceramic coating?

How often does the actual coating need to be applied? Sure, you're getting a thorough annual detail for that $150 - but when are they reapplying the ceramic? From what I've seen, different versions of coatings have different "lifetimes" and it's not forever. The coating on my car is supposed to last 5-7 years. No way I'm going to still own the car past that anyway.

You will be very happy as I hate waxing too. I did the same for the past 4 car purchases but never had the lifetime coverage. I have a 2015 BMW M4 that I had coated a few months after buying it new and it is just now starting to show its age. Maybe after about 7 years I started to notice the water wasn't beeding up like it use to. So the length of time the protection lasts is fairly accurate, although I garaged the car more back then.

I periodically apply a spray ceramic coating to the car as a top coat. It enhances the shine and helps maintain the professional coating. I had used Turtle Wax Hybrid with very good results but recently tried TEC582 with some very impressive results.

It cost in the neighborhood if $1500. They reapply at the annual detail. Pricey but I park outside all the time in verry sunny central CA. Given I didn’t need to apply it and I plan to keep the car long term, it made sense to me.
The purpose of my post was to share the amazing performance of high quality ceramic. Many threads on here have talked about self application and I think they get similar results.

When I had mine professionally done (Ceramic Pro Gold Lifetime) they suggested to have it brought in for an annual $150 coating. I asked them if I could do it myself and they said yes so I bought the $80 bottle of Ceramic Pro Sport which is what they use and apply it myself once a year. While I don't have an issue with washing/drying during the year, applying this top coat just makes things a bit nicer after a year of weekly washing the car. By the way, that bottle has lasted me 3 years so far.

I wonder how the ceramic coating holds up to Midwest road salt and grime? While I don’t mind washing and waxing my vehicles 6 months of the year, 4 months out of the year are out of the question and you either use a ”touch less “ car wash or try and use the wand high velocity wash stations if temp gets above 32. I was thinking maybe the ceramic treatment would get me through the worst of the winter months?

I’m in Hawaii. While I’m not near the coast, winter is still something that only happens on TV. UV though, that’s another story. Ceramic coatings are great for that.

I had our MME ceramic pro coated when we first got it and I'm applying a little Griot Garage's ceramic spray every once in a while to keep the surface smooth as butter. But then I like taking time to detail the car w/Griot Garage's products.
