Here’s the steps:
Select top menu -> Press the arrow near Guest -> Edit -> Arrow near your profile name -> Make Active Profile
Thanks for sharing this tip! I'm going to try it and see if this solves my problem of Remote Start always defaulting to Guest profile with the seat heater on max (and I hate having my seat so hot!)

This has been driving me crazy as well. Switches to guest profile after I remote start and won't let me change back. Then after a while it randomly goes back to my profile. Today it went back to my profile after a couple of errands but also changed all my pre-sets! So frustrating. Other than that I love the car. Does anyone know if Ford is planning a software fix for this?

The biggest issue I had is that the Guest profile didn't have 1PD active and mine does. I updated Guest to use 1PD so that it at least drives like I expect it to.

After recently updating to software version 4.1.3, I noticed this problem is getting more frequest. I have previously used two different work-arounds: the soft Sync reboot, and the one where you create a new profile then delete it. Other times I just didn't do anything and hoped it would work OK the next time I turned the car on. But it was happening much more often now so I broke down and Chatted up Ford.

Below I'll describe how that went. Short story: I don't think Ford even sees or knows about this as a bug...

Chatted Customer Service, choosing the Sync etc. option. They said they can't help with this, and to talk to their "Over the Air" team, at 833-389-0848.

Called that number. Talked with an agent there, explained the issue. She didn't seem to even have a way to look up existing tickets for software issues (reading between the lines in her responses), but she put me on a long hold to talk with her "regional team". After the hold, she came back with more questions that I answered, then she created a ticket for me. Finally, after creating the ticket and saying it would go to that team, she offered to transfer me to "the BEV team" in Marketing. I said sure, go ahead.

Now on the phone with someone form the BEV team. They asked some similar questions (Did you go to dealer - no, did you reboot Sync - yes), then started creating a ticket too. I told them I already have one, they looked at it, then they also put me on hold to speak with someone "in that area". Came back, said there was no indication in any of their systems of this being a known bug at all. So she said she would assign my ticket to the correct department to get it looked at.

@Ford Motor Company doesn't this seem problematic? A bug that has been discussed quite a lot on this forum for over a year at least, and reported before, and it isn't even a known issue as far as these departments are concerned? This is a potential safety issue, given it dictates how the car drives and someone might not notice they got changed to the Guest setting for no reason.

Yeah that first time it flips and you need to use your brakes. It sticks with you. Is today the day I back into my neighbors car? Or tomorrow. Thankfully the rear collision assist ‘should’ negate this.

There’s very simple solution I wrote in previous posts. Since then never had this issue again

My UI is different, but I *think* I already did that. I will re-check to make sure. I just can't tell for sure because I'm on 4.1.3 and the interface and access to profiles has changed. But I did do the Active Profile thing. Went right back to Guest on a future start-up, and again locked there.

@MK_E_4X - Unfortunately even that process doesn't work reliably. Several times the profile wouldn't switch, and even going into the menu and following that process won't get it to work. I either need to drive with the Guest profile until the next time I start the car, or reboot Sync. Most of the time my drive is short enough I just finish my drive in Guest, since I matched the settings for the most part.

I appreciate the effort to document it, as sometimes it does help.

@FirstPony - thanks for the effort to get the issue officially documented. It's crazy to think that @Ford Motor Company hasn't filed a dozen tickets by now... Do any of their engineers drive a Mach E?

Possibly, but not outside of the parking lot I figure. 'Works great here under this cell tower'

By the way, if any others have the time, you might want to consider also filing a ticket on this. The more there are, the more likely Ford will actually fix it.

The number to call is 833-389-0848. As for the BEV team in Marketing. That line is open M-F 8a-11p, and Saturday 8a-8p, all times ET.

Suddenly I confirm that issue still persist. After a month since this problem gone, today morning I found that my car is in Guest profile again and I was not able to fix it.
Sorry, I jinxed you!

I was good for a month also and started happening again once my wife started using the car a bit and carrying her key

I suspect (just based on how software tends to work, as I work in software) that this problem will be more prevalent with people who have multiple profiles going in and out of the car back and forth.
