Profile not loading and cannot select

I have also experienced this same issue (Job 1 car). I variably get wither Guest as a profile or my correct profile. If I get Guest - the car starts from PAAK, FordPass says it is Bluetooth connected, but my phone (the only phone linked to the car) won't connect nor will CarPlay. Going to profile will not let me switch from Guest to the correct profile - seems frozen. Trying to connect the phone via the screen also does not work. When this happened one time, I had a passenger who tried to add his phone but that also did not work. What is most disturbing (interesting?) is that the Guest or correct profile seems random (?). I hope that a software update will fix this glitch(s). I have also deleated both the profile and phone and reloaded the info - no change in the behavior. It is not fun being a Guest in your own car!

I appreciate the input from all of you on this - I just started having this on my 22 Premium - first time I noticed it was when I picked it up from the dealer for its service on December 19th - I took it back, but they had no idea of how to fix it. Of course it reset in their service lane, so I assumed it had resolved itself. Has continued somewhat randomly over the last couple of weeks.

Since I'll trade it in in a month, I'm not gonna worry too much. I'll just set the Guest profile to mimic mine - radio presets are the ones that will be the longest to configure.

When this happened to me I deleted all profiles and re-saved the two we needed, including assigning the profile buttons on the drivers door. So far, if a profile fails to load, pressing the door button will bring it back. I also find that if I press the "Start" button too quickly, no profile will load. I have to remember to hold it down about a second and then all is well. YMMV. The thing I hate the most is it seems with every OTA update, I lose all my radio presets. PITA

Will try that. All my XM presets went away for no apparent reason but the radio ones stayed. No OTA in progress. Weird. Question for anyone. Is there a way to make one phone the "primary" so others will not load? When wife and I are in the car there are three phones and it seems to randomly pick one.

I believe the phone priority is a recent and unfortunate bug. Hopefully will get fixed soon. Very annoying!

Phone-profile priority is supposed to be the one that entered through the driver's side door, but in my experience that has never been reliable. Thus another need for using the door buttons.

This happens to me all the time. Probably doesn’t help that my wife has an exposed key and PaaK in the car overriding my PaaK.

I swear it used to work as expected! First unlocked/in had profile/CarPlay priority.

Had that happen today. I'll wait and see and try creating a Test profile, otherwise, I will just set the Guest setting to my setting and disable profiles.

When I've been unable to switch out of the Guest profile on the Sync screen, pushing the door button for the profile has always worked for me.

Doesn’t work with the new UI interface (or I can’t find it).

When you click those things, there is no “make active profile” option.

There is no pencil next to guest and if you click your profile pencil you get this:

I don’t know how it is in new UI but in previous versions it was another route, through the main menu. Try to find “Profile settings” or something similar.

I had that issue today and on previous occasions. Fixed with ”Soft Reboot”. Volume down and right arrow for ten seconds till it reboots. Usually solves these kind of issues. Good Luck
