Ha! I totally missed the link. When he say DIY, I figured it was referencing some sorta put it together yourself kit.

But yup.
That’s the one i saw before. Still not sure if anyone has installed it here. A bit expensive unless you could somehow control when it’s on and off.

So far they turn on every time we approach the car in the dark.

They turn on in the day too, you just can’t see them. Just hold your hand under the mirror.

How many people have issues with the lights turning on frequently while you are walking in your house? I think the manual says they will turn on when you are within 19' of the car - my garage is on the other side of the wall from the kitchen so I could be less than that distance through a wall.

Is it a possible drain on the 12V battery (I vaguely remember a post about this a while ago) if the lights turn on every time I walk in / out of the kitchen? I turned the puddle lights off just in case but would be happy to turn them back on if this is a non-issue.

Yeah I have noticed that happening at my house too. I wonder what my neighbors think of my lights randomly going on/off while I'm at home.

I've actually gotten into the habit of turning off my phones Bluetooth when I get home so I don't have to think about the car unlocking while I'm inside.

The car will start to ignore repeated approaches without a door open sequence. When I park my car at my office I can see the welcome lights come on several times as I move about the office but after a few false approaches the car just doesn’t turn them on. ??

Since my garage is locked, I leave the fob in the car.
Doesn’t solve the issue if you use PAAK.

I love seeing the puddle lights too!

It's a dang shame then that it's not easy to see them since:

1. They don't always come on when approaching the car
2. They turn off immediately when you open one of the car doors

At least that's my experience...

new MME and couldnt get the welcome lighting to work, including the ponies.
setting was enabled in control panel.

I'd setup paak, and thought a conflict with the phone and fob.
also tried walking away farther.

could get to lock while walking away, but no welcome on return,


desperation mode I did a factory reset via control panel
deleted ford pass on the phone
deleted car bluetooth parings.

got it working now as expected.

added phone and enabled carplay - still OK

wont be using paak.

thats my experience anyway

ford pass didnt do much for me anyway, so no loss.

If LV battery becomes discharged, HV system will re-charge LV battery through the DC/DC converter even when car asleep.
