Howdy Folks,

I placed an order for a 2023 Mach E GT Performance Edition, this past Tuesday. This will be my first EV, but I have owned several Mustangs over the years. Due to the lack of information at Ford's site, I have a few questions that I hope some of y'all would/could answer.

1. Leather Seats and Steering Wheel - In the past the 'Premium' models of the Mustang included leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, and shifter. I understand that the MME doesn't have a "shifter" in the classic sense, but it does have the seats and steering wheel :). Can anyone tell me if the GT comes with leather seats and wrapped steering wheel?

2. B&O Sound System - I had never heard of this brand before looking at Mustangs, starting with the 2019 models (current one I own), and have only heard the older "Shaker' Sytems. Is the B&O System considered good?

3. Window Tint - Does the GT come with any factory Window tinting?

4. Sounds - I had heard that some EV's come with configurable sounds so that people can hear you coming. Does the MME have this feature?

Thanks in advance for your time!

I can’t speak for most of them as I’m not getting a GT, but B&O is Bang & Olufsen. They make very high end audio equipment. Just a pair of over ears will knock you back $400 or so, so I’d imagine the in car speakers are better than ā€˜good’

Sound. Federal law requires electric vehicles to make some sound to warn tte visually impaired, cyclists, and the like they s car is approaching. In the US the sound is produced below 40 kph (18.6 mph). The sound is not selectable and is a sort of a electronic him. Above that speed road noise is sufficient to warn folks you’re coming. The ability to select various sounds for this requirement have been rejected as there is a feeling that the low speed warning should be readily identifiable by the visually impaired.

What you’re likely asking about is s different, engine like sound that is heard outside. There was no such feature through model year 2022, the fake engine noise is limited to the car interior and can be turned off by the driver. The MME is quiet both inside and out. No impressing people (or is it depressing people?) with engine revving at stop lights. Feel free to roll down your window snd go ā€œVroom! Vroom!ā€ though.

Enjoy your journey. Best car I’ve ever owned .

As to the seats, the GT and GTPE have the Miko artificial suede. My first experience with it, coming from my other Ford's with leather, I quite like it, soft feel and doesn't get sticky like the leather could, seems to clean easily too. Rest of the trim (console, wheel, etc) is the activex artificial leather I think, with fancier stitching for the GT.

I will also add: yes the rear window and both rear side windows are moderately dark tinted and the front windows have the darkest tint allowed by law at least in California.

The B&O audio is quite good.

Excellent overall combination of features we wanted in a car. Very happy with ours. I suspect you will really enjoy it.

It is one of the most expensive cars I purchased…and I the first time I ever drove a GTPE was after I signed the sales agreement and got the keys. Kind of crazy to purchase a car I have never driven, but I have enjoyed every minute behind the wheel.

Same situation/experience for me with my Premium (expense and no test drive and no regrets).

Sure...
1.) Leather seat with suede... and leather steering wheel.
2.) B&O Sound system is great... only issue... too much forward sound (front sound bar). I set the fader the rear a bit.
3.) All rear glass is tinted... I did the front windows at 20% when I did the clear bar front end.
4.) The piped sound is okay... I turn it off... and always drive it in "Engage" mode without the "one pedal"... that's the Brembo's are for... why have brakes if you're not going to use them.

I agree with Bodyshopguy-except I always use "one pedal" braking for daily commuting. I got the GT mostly for the moments that I can have fun with the car and I really love driving, but also because it is very practical and civilized for daily driving AND fun to drive when I can actually enjoy driving it.

If I was on a track or able to enjoy some other very spirited driving, I would not use 1PD, but for driving in daily traffic it makes life much easier and extends driving range. I also enjoy Blue Cruise for when I am in traffic when driving is not fun...just point A to point B. Those features are great since unfortunately much of my driving is sadly not spirited.

I think that the Mach E GT performance with Magneride enables the car to be a 9 out of 10 for virtually all things that I want in a car, even while it is not the best at any one thing. There are cars that are quicker, smoother, better handling, luggage space, comfort, styling, features, economy/range cost etc, but cars that are better at any one of those things are typically very compromised in other categories. This is why the car is the best car for me/us because the overall average of all features compared, there is no car that scores higher in as many categories.
