I have a GTP and it’s almost time to replace the tires. Wondering if anyone has found a compatible tire that is quieter on the road in stock.

Mark Boris has done extensive testing of multiple types of tires and posted about it. I suggest you search for his posts on the subject.

I've put a plug kit and a compressor in each of my cars and gone to non-run flats because the run flats have nearly zero sidewall flex and ride like you have wooden tires.

The two that someone on the Forum who had done extensive testing was to consider the Hankook Ion Evo and the Nokian Tire One for a quieter option. They come in a 245/45/20 for the GT and GTPE.

The newest Bridestone rft's have supposedly addressed that in thier ride is comparable to non run flats.....they are just limited in sizes right now.

I wonder what they did. The sidewalls have to be firm enough to hold up 1000+ lbs with zero air pressure in the tire. That is really stiff. Better than before?, ok. comparable to non run flats?... call me a skeptic.

John, when you say compatible, do you mean "similar" tire to your OEM which is a summer performance tire or do you mean any tire that fits that wheel/car?

Any tire really... if it's for EVs (range) and softer/quieter.

One thing I will say is that the stock tires on my car do not make the car wander on grooved pavement.

I listed EV tires that are available here in the US as of June '23 in this post #34 but there may be more now.

Looks like you are more interested in comfort so I would personally go one size larger than you have now to a 255/45/20. It will get you a slightly smoother ride and there are more options in that tire size. Quite a few members here are running this size.

Here are my personal choices for comfort:

If you are after an EV tire, I'd get one of these three. Hankook Ion Evo AS SUV SUV Touring All-Season, Michelin Primacy Tour A/S GOE Hyundai Grand Touring All-Season, Pirelli P Zero All Season Star BMW Ultra High Performance All-Season (tire I'm currently running).

A non EV specific tire for comfort, that would be the Pirelli P7 AS Plus 3 Grand Touring All-Season. Pirelli made this tire to be one of the quietest, smoothest riding on the market. It is also the top rated tire for comfort on the Tire Rack website.

Yeah, and all of the run-flats I have ever tried handled like they were coated in ice. ?‍♂?
