I put a trico 55-150 on to replace the tiny blade. Its the universal type with diff connectors included but works great.

I have the Trico. I would/will buy again. Thanks for the review of the Bosch A401H, I was going to try that wiper next and now I think I will stick with the Trico. If the Trico curves with the window better maybe it will wear more evenly as well. The A401H has picture of it installed on a GT in the amazon reviews. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002G3FOQ...5Y0XBMPIG&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

For anyone replacing the rear wiper I would suggest you watch a video of how to replace the rear wiper. The process may be 'normal' but I find it ridiculously easy to damage something if you don't know the process.
I get the point about the blade following the window to get a good, clean swipe. I was a bit concerned about that before getting the Bosch. Thus far my limited experience with the Bosch 16” blade is it hugs the window contour and makes a clean sweep. Perhaps over time it will break down compared to the Trico, we shall see. On the other hand maybe I lucked into a Bosch 16” that happens to work exceptionally well. Either blade is as noted by Steve and others a massive improvement over the toy blade that comes with the car.

Thanks everybody for your quick responses.
When you look for a longer blade in the auto parts store they all state a longer blade would break the motor. None of you has reported having this problem. Could it be that Ford used a standard motor that accommodates all sizes of blades?

I just ordered the Wowiper and got 20% off with a final price of $6.99. It's 16 inches with the only negative being suspect durability. I mostly use the rear wiper to clean the back window so use it sparingly. Wish me luck!

I haven't had a problem and I replaced tbe OEM rear wiper blade about 60+ thousand miles ago.

Others on the forum may be able to answer that question. I do not know the answer. Maybe it is a disclaimer by the retailer intended to set up a defense in case someone who bought a longer blade does fry a motor and tries to pin the blame on the seller. Or maybe it’s language stemming from experience. I guess it’s a risk one assumes by installing a longer blade.

I can't imagine the intentional design parameter for the wiper motor to leave zero headroom for a fraction of additional resistance.

Seems very unlikely.

I suspect that’s correct. Perhaps sweeping heavy wet snow would be a different load condition than rain. Not saying it necessarily is, just thinking out loud.

I'm hoping for some actual snow this winter for a decent local/regional ski season. I'll let you know how the blade works if we have actual, measurable snow in this region.

Last year(?) there was a discussion about using a longer blade for the rear window. Did any of you try this idea? How did it work out? Did you end up having to replace your blade motor? Did it really help to have the longer blade?
Works much better.
