Hi everybody looking for some help, since January, I've had my car in twice to Ford because of repeated powertrain malfunction warnings. The warnings sometimes turn off after a while of my car sitting, and sometimes don't. This winter, I noticed that I heat while driving on a cold day. I chalked it up to the problems that a lot of people have written on the forums. But then, I would have the same issue at zero degrees celsius. Leaving the house in the morning after preconditioning at zero degrees celsius with no heat. ( This is not every time I drive it, sometimes the heat works and sometimes it doesn't) The first time I brought my car into ford, they told me that I charged my car somewhere that it didn't like and that's why I got the fault warning. This didn't make sense because I did get a warning about charging a few weeks after he first and second warning light. The second time I brought it in, they told me that there was a valve that needed replacing, something to do with the air recycling from the battery; that's what gave me the fault, and that's why I had no heat. I went ahead with that repair. And it seemed to fix it for a while. But now it's happening again, warning late and no heat. Drive it later, and then the heat is working. Driving again and no heat.

There's no air recycling from the battery, sounds like that was a bad coolant diverter valve (battery is liquid cooled).

I would advise you to check your coolant levels, the bottle is under the frunk cover. If it's empty, that's probably why you don't have heat. Since they worked on the coolant system it's possibly you had an air bubble they didn't purge that has caused your coolant levels to drop.

Otherwise the cabin PTC heater may be failing, it will typically only work intermittently when it fails (you'll have heat some days but not others, sort of random).

Thanks so much for your reply! Would that cause the heat to be intermittent? For instance, this morning I had heat for my drive to work, but none at lunch
