I get promo emails from Rexing after using a dashcam of theirs in the past and got this email today.

**Edited 11/7/24 - Rexing has revised their specs of the adapter after I inquired about the initial specs listed. The website has been updated as well.

Yeah I thought the specs were odd too.

Also thought it would make for interesting discussion on here as to why they chose that. ?

I think this is a great argument for staying with the A2Z, Lectron, and Tesla adapters.

These are going to be marginal, at best, for the Mach-E.

They're also pretty late to the game. A2Z (and, I think, to a lesser degree, Lectron) made a killing selling adapters while the Tesla-made ones were unobtanium. Now that the latter are actually shipping in decent numbers - and as fall leads into winter, when fewer people road trip - it seems like an odd time to delve into the DCFC adapter fray. I'm sure it just took them this long to develop the product, but they're behind the curve.

Also, IMHO, even the sale price isn't low enough, when compared to the other products, to justify living with the lower specs. I got my Ford-provided "official" adapter already, but if I was in the market I would still go for an A2Z unit.

I sent them an email asking for clarification on the specs they listed. The cars won't throttle charging because an adapter doesn't support the full speed, so I'm curious what their reasoning is or what they are doing for vehicles that use more than that.

Our cars could push, if not exceed, the 400A limit on a V4 Supercharger.

Our cars could push, if not exceed, the 400A limit on a V4 Supercharger.
Does not have to be V4. It will pull about 435A on a V3 or a CCS charger, but only for a short time.

Also, GM published the specs for the Tesla and Lectron adapters, they are rated at 500A for 10 minutes, 300A continuous. They ARE NOT 500A continuous.

Perhaps….I’ve not gotten that high on a V3.

Well after asking them about the limited specs, they said the specs have been updated after discussions with their R&D team. The website was updated and a new promo email sent out.
